“Aurora and a dragon warrior’s daughter.” Drake stepped forward then, not aggressively, but deliberately placing himself at Elaina’s side. “And she did not come alone,” he said calmly and the four pairs of eyes turned toward him. He had let her speak because the was her battle but that didn't mean he wouldn't support her. Elaina’s voice strengthened by his presence, she glanced at him gratefully and said “This is Drake, he is the dragon Xavier captured. Since I am the strongest mage here, I'm tasked with fighting the dragon, in short, I'm acting as their tank. Xander and Sussie would be my support while Xavier and Lis would give directions to the army. The three went into a quarrel about equality when I noticed the smallest head peeking out of the shadows. "Hello there," I called to him. "Don't you wish to introduce yourself too?" His red and orange scales seemed to burn hot from the distance. I didn't need to ask what kind of dragon he was.

Then a golden lance of lightning came screaming down from above. Drakon hit the ground like a stone. His body was charred, smoking, unrecognizable. He was dead. The gods themselves had struck him down. "Mother." A soft, sweet voice. My child flew to me and wrapped around my hand. Warmth spread through my body. My wounds healed. Then the little dragon flew to Lysander and healed him too. "Mother. Mother." The tiny golden dragon nuzzled against my cheek. Lysander came to my side and put his arm around me. He reached out to touch the little one. I felt as if I were dreaming. None of this seemed real.

If they could not find any wild animals to hunt or their crops failed to flourish, it meant that Alluvium was upset or angered depending on the gravity of the situation.

This created a cacophony of noise that was both jarring and soothing at the same time. “Alpha Xander,” a burly man dipped his head subtly in my direction. The Gamma of the Dragon Warrior pack, I presumed. “Xander, this is Surya Kaka,” she introduced, pointing towards him. He appeared to be in his early forties, tall like me, with dark brown hair and eyes. His build was solid like a truck, and he sported a light beard.

He escaped without serious injury, but knew he had to seek out the assistance of their offspring. Nayara and Ghaeron were appalled at what their mother was doing, and were more than willing to aid their sire in stopping her.
