The dragon was breathing fire over the crowd of enemy soldiers. Maybe Charles and Isabella were right, for once. Maybe I should do some research. I walked over to Felix’s bookshelves. I wasn’t sure if I was filled with surprise or dread upon seeing the titles on the shelves: Anatomy of a Dragon. A Brief History of Dragons. Dragon Battle Tactics. One book in particular caught my eye: an old, leather-bound volume, entitled Dragon Knights and Their Powers. Dragon Knights? Something about that phrase stirred something deep within me, as if I’d heard it before.

One thousand five hundred years ago, before the Fires of Alira, the great dragon kingdom of Highmire lived in unrest. The king, Sindre, was lost on what should be done. His most trusted advisors and close friends, Sixten and Lochness, found themselves in disagreement. Sindre had never witnessed the two this much at odds with one another.

You could start with the first one and see how you like it. Each book can be read as a standalone, so you don’t have to worry about cliffhangers at the end.”

Anyway, while this book becomes the first book for dragon genre, it certainly wasn't my first book in the fantasy genre. The Dance of Fates: Bellatrix was my first fantasy book and I had finished it last year, 2020 so if you can go over my profile, you will find its completed version.
