It's the first in the Elemental Dragons series. It's very different from this world of the Guardians. That book is filled with shifters and, you guessed it, dragons. That series is intended to have four books, one for each dragon.

That is my home. I was about to tell her it was beautiful when she pulled me back and behind a tree. "What?" I whispered. There, she said, pointing. In the distance was a group of three gray dragons. They had metal armor around their arms and legs as well as their heads. "What are they?" I watched them fly, their eyes trained on the landscape below. Her voice quivered lightly as she spoke: Some of the Ondror Slayers. They are looking for me. For us. This time, they will not go so easy on us.

“Look at me, Rory. Breathe. Don’t let their war devour you.” For a moment, the chaos faded. For a moment, it was just his eyes and my shaking heart. But then the ground shook. A dragon’s tail slammed into the wall, stone breaking. Wolves howled, cutting through the lines of vampires. Fire roared, ice cracked, magic flared. The groups weren’t just fighting each other anymore; they were destroying the Academy itself. “Stop this!” I screamed again, but my voice broke under the weight of it all.

“In the real world, we divide Slayers into castes: jōnin, chūnin, and genin. It makes sense that the conditioning starts as early as high school.” “Exactly,” Sasha agreed, “and in the case of us blue Slayers, there’s a much deeper reason.” “What do you mean?” Aki asked, genuinely concerned as the future leader of the empire. It upset her to think that a form of aggression or injustice might exist in Senten or indeed any corner of the Ethereal Nest. “What other reason could there be for bullying?” “Well, has either of you heard of misogi?” Aki and Temujin shook their heads.

Solomon POV The journey to my brother’s realm was short, but the apprehension I felt was a never-ending feeling. I was worried. Things in the realm were changing. I was worried about First Dragon and his children. Soon, he would find out our biggest secret, one we hid from him to save him. I did not know how he would react and what that would entail. My thoughts went to my great granddaughter, Dragana, the Tribrid, who somehow found herself in the center of all this mess, through no fault of her own. So many think that having magic and power is the solution to life’s problems. How wrong they were, I mused to myself.

•Serena's POV• The Academy of Dark Arts. The Academy was made out of dark stone. Aged bricks bearing the weight of the massive structure. The long yards of plush white carpeting, overlaid by Tibetan rugs clashed with the newly designed crystal chandeliers. The Academy also had a prison where guilty witches and warlocks await their punishment. They were to serve us and make us more powerful and dominant over every other pack in the realm.

she warned. "Why should I be prepared for something as terrible as that?" I muttered, folding my hands in front of me. I thought we were here to be shielded from the outside world. "In the previous sessions, we lost a lot of students. Even before that, we lost many. So, it's been that way every session, Kelani. This is Mystic Academy, a school to fight monsters and endanger ourselves in the process. No one cares about us, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't care about ourselves."

She smiled. “That’s me”. I pouted, looking at my parents with one final slither of hope. They shook their heads and my mother stepped forward to the redhead. “I’m Claire, Serena’s mother and this is my husband, Tom”. “Lovely to meet you all. Serena, I get the sense that you aren’t pleased to be here but I promise that will soon change. Let’s get you settled in and take your things to your room. You’ll be dorming with Maddie and she will be your mentor whilst you find your footing. I know you haven’t accessed your wolf yet and that’s no problem, each student has their own timetable which accurately suits their needs” the redhead paused from her speech to pass me my timetable and the academy g

The freezing water colliding against my bare skin numbs me to the point where I forget my pain. We wait for the rest of our pack members at the lobby of where we first entered. It's jam packed with people and I'm feeling quite antsy about it. We have at least five warriors and two healers within the academy's given age range and position, yet not even one of them have made their appearance. I honestly don't understand how the learning system works in this academy. The council's motives are to enhance our abilities as future leaders but I highly doubt that. They show no mercy or compassion to any wolf.
