“Don’t I need to pack and…” Waving a dismissive hand she laughs. “That’s what servants are for, Little Sister. Right now this is your job.” The first dragon I face is my nephew, Orion. He is a very unique type of dragon, a combination of fire, sky, and water--a storm dragon. There have been other storm dragons in the past, but currently, he is the only one living in the Celestial Kingdom. “He’s just a boy!” I glare at Ona. “I am not hurting him.”

Everyone immediately rose to their feet and bowed. I looked up, trying to catch a glimpse of the man who had sired the Commander. He looked nothing like Draven. They shared no resemblance whatsoever. King Xerxes was undeniably a good looking man, possessing the sharp bone structure common among high ranking dragons. Despite being centuries old, he still looked impossibly young like he was barely fifty.

My gaze drifts toward the distant valley where the first faint glimmers of dragonfire appear against the night sky. They are close now. Very close. I imagine her among them. Seraphina. I remember the first time I heard whispers of her. The Madrigal girl who survived the tunnels. The girl who played music that could pull dragons from the sky. The girl Aurelion claimed as his mate. My fingers curl slowly into fists. She should have been mine. Not his. Never his. I could have taught her what that power truly meant. Could have guided it. Shaped it.

From the balcony, the entire court is watching them. Loras is already with Dracos, making sure the riding equipment is in place for the fourth time today. He steps aside when Omar approaches. He lets his huge head down and Omar goes closer. The flame erupts from his mouth and for a second, Astrid's heart stops. Next to her, Loras tenses up too.

"Yes, I need your help in identifying a creature." The royal advisor looked at the king, confused, "A creature, your majesty?" "Yes. You two, show him." The mage showed the royal advisor the memory crystal. When he saw it, his eyes went wide, "I believe this is a dragon, your majesty." "A dragon? Aren't they a notoriously closed-off and secretive race that rarely leaves their territory?" "You are correct, your majesty. However, they do frequently leave their territory for trade with the elves or the Auhura empire. From what I can tell, I believe this could be just a child."

Either way, the priority at hand was to defeat Miller and retrieve the eighth dragon cauldron. Just then, Miller's earth-type aura suddenly began decreasing. Hagin sensed this and glowered at Miller. "What's going on here, Miller? Didn't you say that you were going to protect the pride of the merfolk with everything you had?" "But Sir Hagin, Wilbur Penn's a member of the dragon clan. The merfolk has always been under them. How can I make myself an enemy to a member of their clan like that?" "Take a closer look, he has no dragon scales!
