I stooped down and peered into the man's face, searching for an eye peeping through, but the mask, with its outer ridges, blocked every spot from sight. I was paralyzed by fear, almost drowning in it, when suddenly and almost too unrealistically, the figure raised a hand and flung away the mask, and then it must have been when I recognized her face, for it welcomed the face of Visha, the sister of Kalmia. "Visha!" burst out of my mouth, my scare being overshadowed by surprise and happiness.

I tried to explain. “Working? You call drinking with men ‘work’?” My father slammed his hand on the table as he shot to his feet. “Do you have any idea how upset Daffie is today? She posted something really important on Instagram, and you, her own sister, couldn’t even hit the ‘like’ button? Are you jealous of her?” Daphne looked up at me. Her eyes glistened with tears. “Sis, I know you’re busy. But I was honestly so happy about getting the apartment today. I just wanted to share that with my family. He is scrutinising my face like I have three heads. “Yeah, sorry I’m fine, just reading.” I try to sound convincing. He narrows his eyes before focusing back on the road. “What is it?” he asks and I sigh. “I have been seeing a wolf in my dreams. “The sleeping beauty is awake! Care to share your dreams with us!” I rolled my eyes, annoyed. Suddenly, a slap landed on my face, sending a wave of pain through my body. He grabbed my neck and I noticed how he had a long moustache and blue eyes. My sister Dina had blue eyes. “Did you roll your eyes at me? Wench? Do you want to die?”

“I know you’re only going to get in the way, so I decided to take matters into my own hands, sister.” Suddenly, my eyes widened. “Sister?” I asked. Just then, the girl raised her hand and slowly lifted the veil. I felt my heart drop and my head begin to reel as she slowly exposed her face. Her chin, her lips, her nose, her eyes… They were all mine. She looked exactly like me. “No,” I stammered, taking a few steps back. “I don’t have a sister. This can’t be real.”

I was about to catch her but her head touched the ground when I saw her and she was still smiling evilly at me. I woke up. I was breathing heavily and saw the time it was 4:00 am... I was sweating a lot. I was thinking about what was happening in my dream. I again recollected her face. Why does she look exactly like me? In the past week, I got the same dream twice but it had some alteration in it. I asked my mom but she didn't show much experience on her face and told no you don't have. But when I asked my father if I had a twin sister. After hearing my question. He looked at me with a panic expression as if I have found a thousand years of mystery.

It’s been keeping me out of myself.” A dream that would put someone in that state? “What kind of dream?” I asked. “A woman. I can’t see her face. Just her outline. Her voice.” He turned the information over like he was still trying to make sense of it himself. “She told me if I want to know who she is, I should ask my father.”

She had a dream. She had been chasing a faceless man whose laughter haunted her and caused her sleeplessness. She chased the annoying man past grounds, past bloodied bridges and when she finally caught him and saw his face, she smiled. He had the face of the man who killed her sister. So, she did the same thing he did to her sibling. She dragged him to the top of a building in the dirty, rotten-looking city and while looking down at the deadly height with a smile, she made sure to beat him up.
