“So, what can I help you with then?” She straightened. “I have a plan for you to test your mental strength.” Her eyes narrowed. “Don't tell me it's the king.” “I have a plan. I'm going to try to seduce him with alcohol tonight until he's completely drunk. I think he'd be less on guard then. “Well, it's easier to penetrate a drunk man's mind, but there's just one problem.” She said. “What is?” “Most drunk people do not have coherent thoughts. It's easy to read them, but what use is reading them if it's mostly gibberish.”

LIAM'S POV The speaker bass pounded up my legs and through the floorboard, it was so damn loud that I could barely hear my own thoughts inside of my head. Red cups were everywhere and the living room was crowded with people grinding their bodies. This was one hell of a party and I had since lost count of how many shots I had tossed back into my throat in order to make my head feel warm and fuzzy, that kind of drunk that made everything sharper and slower at the same time.

"I am worried." I mentally slapped myself. The words had just slipped out of my mouth before I could process them. His smile widened slightly, and I felt my chest tighten. He looked like a child who had succeeded in convincing his mom to buy him candy. Why was he looking at me like that? Sober Dominic hardly smiled at me. Is it true that drunk people actually tell you things they can't say when sober? "Do you mind me asking a question?" He tilted his head slightly as his thumb continued stroking my cheek slowly.

Author Pov "Are you alright?" He heard his partner's voice. Looking up at the man he let out a heavy sigh. Chugging the glass of toxic drink down his throat he closed his eyes throwing his head back on the sofa. "I don't know. She's messing up with my mind." He mumbled keeping his eyes closed.

My words were starting to slur. It was this damn drink! “I should’ve listened to him. That one damn thing he warned me not to do. But I was too blind to see it. Too fucking stupid to see you caused all this.” Isabelle stepped back slowly with vivid shock. The sound of her heels clicking on the wooden board irritated me. “Are you shocked? Oh don’t be Isabelle.” My lips pouted in a sorry manner. My head was pounding. For some reason I couldn’t stop talking. The damn drink was ruining me.

The loud music and rambunctious laughter drowned out my thoughts and I could hardly hear myself think. "Get it together and try to remember where you've been," I said quietly as I massaged my temples with my fingers, taking deep breaths while I did to disambiguate my scattered thoughts. "Hey doll face are you lost?" A drunken male voice slurred my ear. I whirled around and saw a man in his late thirties behind me, in his hand was a bottle of vodka. His eyes were hazy, his breath reeked of alcohol and his body of sweat and cologne.

"...people like me." 'People like me? He thought, what was that supposed to mean?' Is the saying true that the words of a drunk man words are his sober thoughts? If he isn't speaking gibberish that is. He stared at her lips about to do something stupid, something she would probably regret when she was sober. "I hope you won't remember this when you wake." Then he kissed her. ___

Because now I'm doing anything but looking at his eyes. “Nonsense.” I manage to say, trying to reclaim my lost dignity, “Don't believe anything a drunk person says, and if you say that drunk talks are sober thoughts then we are gonna have a problem.” He grins at me, his eyes sparkling with joy for some reason. “okay.” He states simply, shrugging his shoulders and still grinning at me. I can only roll my eyes at him before speaking. “So, what's happening here?”
