I don’t want to seem desperate, and I’m bracing myself for the disappointment of knowing that whoever bought me a drink is not who I want. I finish playing one of my all-time favourites, “Vienna”, take a deep breath and find the Wilcox guy leaning back on his seat, looking at me. I sneer at him. Fine then, I won’t check it now. The crushed ice is halfway melted when I notice he’s gone. Quickly, I take the card and place it over the piano keys as I open it carefully, almost as if it was cursed. The attraction none of us wanted to name. "To this fucked-up life we live," Dax toasted, leaning back against the couch with a lazy grin. Max clinked his glass against his before taking a long sip. "To the only person who keeps up with us," he said, looking at me. I felt their eyes on me. I lifted my glass to my lips and drank. The whiskey burned down my throat, but not as much as the intensity of their stares. Maddox stood by the fireplace, his shirt open, the first buttons undone, as if he were finally allowing himself to breathe. His gray eyes had darkened, watching me with a dangerous edge.

We drank a couple of drinks and moved onto the dance floor. I wasn’t drunk yet and could see everything clearly, my phone rang and I saw my mother’s text to rush back home. I didn’t want to go or else she would beat me terrifically as she hasn’t received the money yet. That’s the reason I can think of, it’s not that she is worried for me. I went to the bartender and ordered loads of vodka. Tessa was dancing with someone but who cares if she was having fun, I drank another shot of vodka. It was definitely helping and I was gradually losing my senses.

It was nice to feel something different other than this empty dread in the pit of my stomach. Maddie gave me two more shots to down before we left and I gladly took them, at that state of drunk where I couldn't even taste the vodka on my tongue. I was breathing heavy now, as if there wasn't enough oxygen in the room to fill my lungs. "Fuck, I got you really drunk," she cringes, and I try and tell her it was okay, but I could barely even open my eyes at this point. "I'm taking you home," she says with a guilty smile and I wrap my arm around her shoulder.

I got out coldly, the hate in my chest burning through my lungs. He stared at me then shook his head. "I knew the girl was going to be trouble, first you killed Metz and wiped out his whole clan, then you went after your own brother" I stepped closer to him, my gaze boring into his dark eyes. "Didn't Metz's death benefit you? Don't be such a hypocrite father, as for Ethan, he shouldn't have messed with my woman" Just thinking about what he did had my blood raging again. The doctor said she'd been drugged a lot in the past week with benzodiazepines and some other drugs that were detrimental to her health, but that she was going to recover with no adverse effect after finishing her treatment.

Evans kept muttering words as the simulations were too much for him and the drug in his body wasn’t helping either. Meanwhile, though Nathan didn’t take any drugs, he wasn't any better, he felt like he was going insane, he felt like the drugs had been passed to him, he just couldn’t control it. Drake said ending the call. He walked over to the China hutch and pulled out a decanter of scotch. Not even bothering to grab ice, he poured himself a glass, and swallowed it in one gulp, enjoying the stinging sensation at the back of his throat. He went to the kitchen and put some ice in his glass and refilled it with scotch. This time taking gentle sips to calm his nerves. He picked up his phone and dialed the number for Mia Novella’s escort service. The front desk receptionist answered after the first ring.

My heart began to beat faster because of what I was hearing. Quietly, I peeked inside. I saw Draken sitting on the floor, leaning against the foot of the bed. He was crying, his hands resting on both of his knees. One hand held a bottle of liquor, while the other held a cigarette. His room was a mess. The broken bottle was still scattered across the floor. What had happened to this man? In the ten years that I hadn’t seen him, I never imagined he would end up like this. He didn’t even smoke before. He used to drink occasionally, but I had never seen him cry or lose control like this.

I only drank two glass of whiskey" he replied. "It's enough to get some one drunk" Debris replied hotly. "I know my limit, so cut out with your nonsense and tell me why you drugged me last night" he yelled at her.
