I chuckled. “You are the cutest duck I have ever seen.” I said to it, and I wanted to touch it, but the duck seemed to the glaring at me. So many things were happening at once. The duck did not have one leg. Rather, it had two legs and it looked human, and only it looked yellow all over, and his legs were slanted and it looked oddly like a Lycan prince that I knew. The same one that was not talking to me, and was making me feel strange.

Clay nodded at my phone. “Hold your horses.” I rolled my eyes, pulling up the list. “Okay, the others in the cartoon movie were Slightly, Nibs, Chubby, and Twins.” I frowned, not liking any of those. “Ah, here we go. In Hook, there was also Ace. But that’s a no go since that’s my brother. Thud Butt is also a no. We aren’t insulting the puppies.” I shook my head. “Pockets could be cute. Don’t Ask, Too Small, Latchboy, and No Nap were the others. I don’t like those names.” I wrinkled my nose.

“Do you know why you are here?” “What kind of question is that Herald?” Mr Duck stumbled in from the door and pretty much a bunch of other creatures; a hamster with a small sword, super-hot twins in a striped low cut crop shirt and a black flay skirt with high socks and boots. Their skin was pale, their pupils bright red and their perky breasts bounced with every movement. “Why, she’s going to slay the Clabawaka for us!” one of the twins exclaimed, her hands clasped together and eyes sparkling with hope.

In the end, I think they turned out great. Not that I knew what the others were for but there was also a frog on a log, a humming bird and a fat Cardinal. The very last one I was drawing was for Arlo. He got those picture for us, or more for me. It was of a wolf. It’s head was downward with his teeth showing. The hair was standing straight up with a human skull under it’s paw. There wasn’t any flesh on it, just the bones. Originally, I was going to make it a dead rabbit or something but this seemed appropriate. Keeping this one black and white, kept some of the mystery alive. “Charlotte??” Waylon yelled as he was coming in.

Otherwise, why did I feel like this at a simple touch? Fine, I'll do what she says today. I started to throw pieces of lettuce to the duck that Ana brought with us. She was right about one thing. This was kind of relaxing. "Look, that duck looks like he has a mustache!" she exclaimed all of a sudden and pointed at one with a black mark near its beak. I rolled my eyes. "You are so dumb." "No, but seriously. Oh, and look at the one with green feathers. Isn't it pretty?" she asked enthusiastically. Her eyes were lit up. She had such big brown eyes.

Luca said. “So, you were watching the entire time and didn’t jump in to help.” I placed my hands on my hips and stared at him. “Well, yeah. But I was ready to intervene if you turned purple. I was even ready to grab one of those dodo birds over there to beat his ass if I needed to.” I palmed my forehead, then turned to look at the strange birds that were waiting by the water for their next meal. Their beady eyes were weird with one eye looking to the left and the other looking to the right. They had long bills and stubby bodies with short legs.

The second was a giant white rabbit with a blue ribbon that sat under Theo's other arm. Arte pointed out a hook-a-duck stall and bounced over without thinking, tapping Alec's card. There was no explanation needed for this one; Arte was good at things like this. She watched, waiting. Swiftly, she hooked a large blue duck and pulled it over to the bench. Four more goes left, and each time, she hooked a large duck. She bounced back over to Theo and Emma, holding two more giant teddies - A fluffy black bear and an orange fox.

Too bad they never imagined I had already gotten rid of it. My phone suddenly buzzed with a message. I glanced down and smiled bitterly. Mom and Dad thought it was a concerned message from Byron, and they exchanged guilty glances. Unfortunately, they were only half right. It was indeed from Byron, but the message read, "Something came up at work. I won't be home tonight." Right after that, Claire sent me a video. Byron was in the hospital, head bowed as he peeled an orange for her, his gaze tender. The caption read, "I'm the one Byron loves. An ugly duckling is forever an ugly duckling. You'll never become a swan."

Once she could shift quickly, she would be able to just strip and shift like everyone else. Drew’s wolf, Dusk, was beautiful. His sandy coloured fur was longer than average and shaggy, and his aquamarine eyes that were the same shade as Drew’s, stood out strikingly against his pale fur. He was also incredibly playful unless he was on duty, just like his human counterpart. He bounded into the clearing, leaping at Marcel, who spotted the attack early and spun, causing them both to tumble on the ground, play-wrestling like pups.
