The kind of panic that made me want to set fire to the world, only to sift through the ashes for what was lost. Perched on a sofa clearly not meant for someone my size, I fanned through one of the thousands of books the male, Dain, had sent to the suite. Half of these tomes read like textbooks, while the others were packed with fiction and myth. There was no way of sorting between what might be real, and what might’ve been the illusive dreams of some ancient, long deceased scholar. I’d been seconds away from voicing as much when I heard a breathy little whimper, not unlike the one’s my mate had mate last night, sound from across the room.

The air grew thick with the sound of turning pages and the scent of dust they were disturbing for the first time in decades. Nate’s mind reeled as he read. The books spoke of creatures he’d only ever seen in movies. There were bestiaries detailing dragons, their scales described with metallic precision. He found genealogical charts for vampiric bloodlines and treaties on fae territories. It was a hidden history of the world, all contained in this impossible room, and he could barely believe any of it was real. The books themselves were artifacts, some dating back hundreds of years, their pages brittle and their ink faded. “So… dragons? Vampires? They’re real?” Nate breathed, his voice hushed

Gabriel (POV) After throwing money down on the table I ran out to follow Alana. As soon as I got outside, she was gone. I began walking and began to use the bond to feel for her. Only I felt nothing. I know I should be feeling something unless something has happened to her. At this point, I was at a loss, but I cannot give up. This bond has proven to me I was right all along. Alana is my one true mate, and I will not lose her. I felt bad to have kept the truth from her that what we have is a dragon bond that happens between mates. If we were on Drakkon the bond is the last part of binding us in unity as forever mates.

Albian replied, “This is Pax. A peaceful realm very few have ever witnessed. You are the only reason we are here. It was the power in you that led us here, and the power in you that allowed us entry.” “I don't understand. If you could never get here, how do you know it was me and some kind of power I possess.” He pointed a finger in the air, “Books, my dear. Books. There is much legend that is written about the existence of this place.”

People scream and scurry away in fear, they are right to fear me, I am too angry to show mercy right now. I remember reading a book when I was a girl, all about dragon lore and the special things they could do, so I lift my right paw and bite into my finger/toe to draw blood, then lower it to Drake. I let a few drops fall onto his chest and then one into his mouth, before sealing my wound and returning my attention to those around us. These tiny things are all my enemies they all are trying to take Drake away from me! “RAARR!! Grrrrr!!”

"I think the first published set has been exhausted and out of the market for the meantime, but I think I have few left over copies here" he uttered wetting the tip of his index finger with saliva.

The King of Dragons stood at the edge of the large plain laid out before him. The field lay barren and wasted as the last patch of dead brown grass was scorched out of existence. Across this field were twelve large pits and in each of these pits were two dragons battling it out with fire, ash, magic, and the will of a warrior.

I would love to offer something to the creator that will allow all dragons a destined mate, but I do not have any ideas yet. The last few pages of the book are empty, except one. It’s a sketch of a beautiful woman lying on the bed. Her body shape is gorgeous. It reminds me of Tru’s. I place the book down and wonder what’s happening. The book is in my writing, and the entries sound like they are me, but it isn’t possible. I never came here after the stone disappeared. I was too busy searching. The dates are of a time I was stone.
