Into the Unknown

Into the Unknown

I said as I pull my sword from my holster belt when I feel that dark aura coming towards us. Vlash look around and when he sees those moving bushes he pulls his sword. “What the… what ARE those?” I utter in disgust when I clearly see who or what are those approaching creatures. I see some small looking naked ugly little creatures like dwarves but look so scary and their bodies look like of those zombies. Their faces are covered in bandages, their eyes are orange, they have long sharp ears, no nose and they are holding weapons and spears as they run towards us. “Those are ‘limpets’ they are like the dark opposite of dwarves. They are scary and they kill people. They serve the black goddess.”

Jade: The Hybrid Mage

Jade: The Hybrid Mage

I murmured, captivated by their skill. One hunter managed to pierce the boar’s tail with her spear. The beast howled, thrashing wildly as its form began to shift. “It’s melting!” I gasped, my stomach churning at the sight. The boar’s body turned into a rippling green liquid, spreading across the ground like a living puddle. “That’s the Duwlamarey,” Gib whispered, his voice thick with fear. The liquid moved with terrifying speed, sending out spear-like tendrils in every direction. The hunters dodged and blocked with incredible precision, their movements like a deadly dance.

Sigils of Blood and Shadow

Wrong. He doesn't even flinch and slams me into the ground. My blood runs cold, my stomach twisting with disgust as saliva droops from his mouth to my face. “You really are interesting. If I were just a werewolf, you might have given me more than a mild shock.” He gives me a smile that'll haunt me even in death, before sinking his fangs into my shoulder. He rips out the flesh, blood splattering across my face. A bloodcurdling scream rips through me as tears flood my eyes, burning down my cheeks. The pain is unbearable, nothing like I've ever felt before.

Painting with Blood

“That sounds… dangerous.” “He saved me.” “Maybe. But people who can do that kind of thing so easily… they usually aren’t just nice strangers.” I rubbed my face. “I know.” “Promise me you’ll be careful.” “I will.” But even as I said it, I knew it was a lie. Because the second I closed my eyes that night, all I could see was Dmitri—blood on his knuckles, eyes like winter, voice low and rough when he said my name. And I wasn’t scared.

Pact of Blood

Pact of Blood

The transition between worlds had not brought Dave the sanctuary he sought. Instead, it had brought him to the very heart of the abyss, where the darkness was not merely a shadow, but a living, breathing entity that coiled around his lungs. But the physical distance between Oakhaven and the throne of the abyss was nothing compared to the violent rupture occurring within his own blood.

Blood for the Plague

But I can't hide things forever so, I will reveal the truth to her. "Oh you're talking about that cure? Yes there is a cure. You know what is it? It's the blood of Albino people," I heard Lucia gasped. I did not react to that but rather continue on informing her. "That's why the capital, and the King are eager to get your twins. People are calling them witches. People are out to drain their blood, Lucia. The reason why the King knows about it is because there's a book about that"

The Golden Dragon's Princess

They wore identical, beautifully constructed leather armour from their helms to the chaps that covered their boots, creating the illusion that they were the same man, but many versions of him. Aurien pulled his braid free of his shirt as he stepped forward. The language that he spoke was not Fae. Dwarvish, I thought. One of the other fifteen tongues he spoke. “The dwarves have a complicated relationship with the Fae,” Daerton murmured in my ear. He had made his way up the wagon and leaned his arms against the back of the bench seat. “Your pretty maid had best keep her head down whilst we’re here or she might find herself tied to a dwarf’s bed,” he chuckled. “Will it be love or hate when the

I loved this story that I did not want it to end. I would love to see Liera and Aurien's story continue from here although we do see snippets in your other books. I read this book often to remind myself that we all can fight through life's challenges with strength and determination. Thank you
Sarah.
I really loved the book, I wish there were more like it on this app. The characters are charming and the story is beautifully written, the premise makes me want to continue reading the other books. I hope there will be lots more like this one and maybe even longer

Born To Fight

Born To Fight

A short, thick-bearded man (a dwarf with bushy beard), with a long tail stood in old man Jenkins’ path and grinned at him. “MOVE IT!” Old man Jenkins yelled and increased his speed. He kicked the dwarf out of his way. The dwarf flew through the air, yelling in pain as the green mist clung to him and peeled off his skin, then flesh and even dried up his blood until only bones were left. The dwarf had already died before he landed. Only his skeleton landed beside instructor Jack who rolled on the floor and jumped as he grabbed the dwarf’s big head and threw it at an unsuspecting gangster fighter. The gangster fighter realized it too late and had a skull embedded in his chest.

Frequently Asked Questions

Well, defining Guts solely as a 'dragon slayer' kind of misses the forest for the trees in 'Berserk'. Sure, he ends up wielding the Dragonslayer blade, but the role he plays is this brutal, walking embodiment of human defiance in a world where gods and demons have all the power. He's not a chosen one; he's the guy who carves his own path with a slab of iron, literally and figuratively. The dragons he slays are more often metaphors—the monstrous systems of fate, the apostles, his own trauma. That blade becomes a symbol of humanity's raw, ugly, desperate will to fight back against insurmountable cosmic horror.

You don't read 'Berserk' to see Guts triumphantly save kingdoms from dragons. You read it to see if a man who's lost everything can keep swinging, can protect the tiny, fragile new family he's found, even as the universe itself seems designed to crush him. The 'slayer' part is almost secondary to the 'survivor' part. In a genre saturated with power-fantasy protagonists, Guts reminds you that sometimes the greatest strength isn't in winning, but in refusing to break. That last panel of him just... standing there, battered but not gone, says more than any epic kill scene ever could.
