She scratched the incision scar with the case’s tip boundary and it made the scar start bleeding. “My Gosh…” She bit her lower lip and put her bleeding palm on the case’s cover. She stared at her bleeding scar and she wasn’t aware that her blood was streaming down to the surface of the case. Her blood fell into the case’s surface and it was absorbed into as the case started to fume out again…

When he approached her she could only concentrate on the shiny needle. “Take a deep breath Omega, it will hurt but only for a second.” It did hurt, like a lot but she managed to keep quiet. The worst part was when he was pushing the earrings through the newly made hole in her ear. Arya hissed. “There, there it looks really pretty.” Soon both her earlobes were pierced. “Come have a look.” Master helped her to the mirror and she could see the pretty earnings on her ears. “It looks beautiful, thank you Master.” Arya smiled, hopefully he won’t be angry about the vast amount of money they cost.

Vivian noticed immediately and shouted to the classmates around her, "Hold her down! I'll take it off myself." At her command, several boys pinned my arms and legs. I was forced to my knees like some criminal awaiting punishment. Vivian stood over me, her disgust unfiltered—more brazen than she ever was in high school. Her fingers pinched the earring and twisted. The sharp metal scraped against my ear, sending a cold, slicing pain down my neck. She was trying to rip it off. But she knew—I had a bleeding disorder. If she tore it out, I could be in real danger.

Moving my hair to the side, I saw where it was coming from: two distinct puncture wounds just a couple inches down from my ear. My stomach dropped.

I groan as the sharp pain makes my ears hurt as well. ‘Calm down,’ Amaia says gently. I let out a shaky sigh. Sweat trickles down my forehead and it is then that I realise that something is trickling out of my ears and nose. Thinking it’s sweat, I wipe it with my fingers only to realize that it is not sweat, but blood. I can only stare at the red-stained fingers in astonishment and…. Fear. Because despite being a doctor, I am not sure what is wrong with me. ~~~~~~

She couldn’t… We find our way into the small break room in the back of the gallery, where I once stood up to Selina all those months ago. Arthur guides me to the table, then rifles around under the sink, where he locates a small first aid kit. He opens a packet containing an alcohol wipe. “This will sting,” he warns. I hiss as the cool pad makes contact with the torn flesh. “How bad is it?” “Not as bad as it looks,” he assures me, although his eyes are still bright red instead of their usual green. “The earrings were heavy enough that they tore straight through rather than ripping down. They’ll heal cleanly.”

He can also hear the popping sound of his skin being pierced, as if he has been drugged and then stabbed by someone with a needle, but he can still hear it without pain. Then, drops of black blood oozed out from dozens of needle holes.

My ear was bleeding. Maya looked shaken, but she didn’t apologize. Not even a sorry muttered under her breath. Just silence, and that twisted flicker of guilt she tried to swallow. For a second, I badly wanted to beat her up. But I bit my tongue so hard I tasted blood. I forced myself to breathe. I bent to pick up shards. Glass pricked my fingers. I stayed silent and swept the rest of the room, ignored her stares, and left, bleeding. Outside, I headed toward the outer gardens. I knew a plant that could stop bleeding fast if crushed while fresh.

I grabbed my head with both my hands as it seemed to only get louder, I could also feel something begin to drip down my ears and soon, my eyes too. “Eleanor!!! What's wrong!!!? Oh my goddess! You are bleeding… wait, I'm going to go find help!" Jasmine gasped in panic but I was quick to grab her before she could begin to run. “Don't!!! Please don't… don't call anyone" I breathed out, letting go to grasp at my ears again as the static noise grew impossibly loud. “But you are bleeding, y-y-you are fucking bleeding, Eleanor!!" Jasmine yells, increasing the pressure in my head.

And yet, I had thought they could make up for everything I had failed to give her. I picked up one of the gardenia earrings, the delicate silver catching the light. My hand was still bleeding, and a drop of blood smeared across the earring, staining it red. Panic surged through me as I tried to wipe it away, but the blood only spread, stubborn and unyielding. No matter how hard I rubbed, it wouldn’t come clean.
