"Take off your clothes," he ordered in his cool, baritone voice. My robe slid off my shoulders and I stood in front of him naked and ashamed. But when his wet lips worked their way down my neck, I found myself trembling in fear and desire.***I was 20 years old, a maid.I was given to the bloodthirsty Alpha, the cold and cruel demon that all had feared.Knowing my love for him was hopeless, I made a contract with him: he would take down my enemy in exchange for my life.On the day I got my revenge, I was ready to die, until I found out...***“Amber, do NOT run away from me again," he commanded as he took a step forward."Don't come any closer," I held a dagger up to my throat with one hand, and covered my abdomen with the other, my voice calm. “Or you will never meet your child.”Hybrid Alpha's Contract Bride is created by Reina Bellevue, an eGlobal Creative Publishing signed author.

Amazing story to read. Well telled story with character development, secrets and lots of twist in the story. The only downside for me is the huge cliffhanger and that there are so many questions on how the story would continue.

Chapter 1 : From a Maid to a Princess
The smell of blood filled the air of the bedroom. I felt the warmth seeping through my socks before I looked down to see that the crimson warm liquid had permeated the thin walls of my maid's shoes. In the long, oppressive silence, her face was still smeared with the gore and her long nails dripped red. I was so terrified and shocked by the scene that I couldn't even tremble. "Now," the Luna Queen tilted her head slightly toward me, "Is that enough to convince you to marry the prince?" ***"It's definitely a peace treaty by marriage!" "That's why we were asked to dry clean this. Princess Iris is meeting Hoarfrost's Prince August tonight for the first time. She needs to charm him!" Connie, the longest-tenured maid amongst us, and the unofficial gossip queen exclaimed, holding up Princess Iris' golden evening gown."So, what does that mean for us maids?" Chelsea, a recent hire at the palace, asked in a timid voice.Nothing, absolutely nothing, I thought. As the prince

Chapter 2 : The Prince Has Arrived
I had no other option. "My sister. I can't leave her. She's in Sablestone." I rushed my words hoping to get them all out before she could refute. She released her hold from my chin and exhaled, "Why didn't you just say so, my dear? We can make sure she's amply taken care of. After all, you'd be a princess and a princess' family should be pampered as well."It was an intriguing premise....my sister and I could trade the servant's life for one of nobility. However, my father had always instructed me: 'don't take what's not yours.'I knelt, my forehead touching the ground and I pleaded. "Please forgive me, your Majesty. My sister's still young…"Once again the cackling emitted from the queen's mouth as she bellowed, "You don't need to apologize to me, my dear, but I'm sure these young ladies will want one after I'm done with them. The Luna Queen shifted into her wolf form, the shade of dark charcoal. Her emerald eyes bore through the slits of her eyelids. She pivoted her head an

Chapter 3 : My Future Husband
He looked around and immediately identified the empty seat next to me. I swallowed as he started moving my way. Now that he was in the room, I could see him clearly. His hair was midnight black and wavy and his eyebrows dark like charcoal. A muted scar ran from the peak of his right eyebrow and ran through his perfectly shaped nose. His jawline was rigid with a five-o-clock shadow. Then I caught myself staring at his lips—they were plump and elegantly shaped, however, what drew my attention was their color. Like garnet, I thought. He was absolutely handsome, however, for reasons I didn't know, all I could feel was fear.As he walked toward me, every step he took made my heart thump louder. This was Prince August, the prince charming of every girl in the land, and my future husband. It just didn't seem possible. None of it did. The dead maids, me in this dress, or even the fact I was dining with the royals for the first time in my life. And now, I was going to mar

Chapter 4 : Rejected
And with that, the peace treaty was surely over.Everyone at the table gasped as Prince Leonardo strode out of the dining hall, but nobody, not even Queen Regina, dared to stop the prince in his tracks. The man I presumed to be the prince's Beta ran out after him in a frenzy. The queen's venomous green eyes pierced directly at me. I tried to avoid her eye contact, but I felt her gaze puncture my forehead.Someone would need to pay the price for ruining the dinner and I had no doubt that someone would be me.My heart sank and I couldn't breathe.I was useless to the queen, and I might have also become the reason that resulted in the end of my sister's life. I sat there stunned and I couldn't even pay attention to people murmuring around me.Why did he reject me? Did he know I wasn't the real princess? Was I not elegant enough for his liking? What did I do wrong?I couldn't understand this whirlwind of emotions, this chaos of anxiety.I was scared of the prince, but wh

Chapter 5 : His Body on Mine
t the crack of dawn, a piercing knock hit the princess' door, and without hesitation, the queen's personal attendant, the one sheathed in a black pantsuit, marched in aggressively with orders from the queen."Every day at 6 am I'll be doing your makeup. You're to assume the role of Princess Iris. Your life as you once knew it, as a maid, doesn't exist anymore."I was caught off guard. If that was the case, Princess Iris would never be returning?"Now, as Your Majesty mentioned, you have two weeks. These two weeks you may spend as you like," the queen's attendant added, "Whether you want to enjoy your time indulging in all the exquisite delicacies available to a princess, you may do that, but just know your decisions have unwavering consequences if the prince doesn't accept the engagement."As if I could…if only my and my sister's lives weren't in my hands!"Understood," I acknowledged. There were no other instructions given to me. How was I supposed to win

Chapter 6 : Caught Alone with Another Man
"There you go, your Highness. You're all cleaned up. There's no damage at all," Reina, Hoarfrost's resident nurse, reassured. I nodded my appreciation, a gesture it seemed Reina was not accustomed to.After that, Dylan walked me to my room. The early morning sky was a pinkish hue and pierced strongly into the white palace hall."The sun is beautiful here," Dylan pointed out, adding, "Up north, everyone's just a bit more tense and cool towards each other. You've been a great ambassador for your pack, your Highness."Dylan looked down shyly towards the marble tile as his cheeks flushed the color of the evening sky. I didn't want him to get the wrong idea and I added, "Thank you, Dylan. I appreciate your acquaintanceship." "Oh, so that's what we're calling it now?" Dylan released a light laugh. "Up north we just call it the friendzone." This time he rubbed the back of his neck and shook his head as he exhaled."I-I'm sorry but I don't under–" Before I

Chapter 7 : We Can't Trust Her
It took a few trials to perfect the recipe, but I think I finally did the northern dish justice. A Hoarfrost territory specialty: roasted duck over red curry.Looking down at the dish I prepared, I felt a wave of confidence for the first time. The duck breast was glazed in an herbal marinade, directly sourced from the palace's gardens, and was roasted to perfection. The curry was thick, but just rightly so, and the steaming potatoes in the sauce were golden brown.I carried the dish under a silver platter which struggled to keep the steam in. I walked up the all too familiar marble staircase, this time in a dignified light-blue gown that graced my ankles, and powder-white flats, perfect for the airy spring day. When I arrived at the prince's door, I was surprised, albeit relieved, to hear his Beta in there again.Dylan seemed to be Prince Leonardo's polar opposite. He was respectful, kind, and warm even to me–the supposed enemy. Maybe he didn't see me as a threat.I kno

Chapter 8 : He's Jealous
In an anxiously timid voice, I apologized, "Prince Leonardo, I'm so so so sorry for–" My words were interrupted."Save the apology. You could never hurt me," he spoke in a deep, indifferent tone. Dylan rushed up to us in haste. "Your Highness, are you alright? How's your head? Did you blackout? You need to see Reina! There could be internal bleeding. Let me take you upstairs right now!" His words spewed out frantically, and he was more worried than I was."I'm totally fine, I can go up by myself," I assured, but Dylan had already extended his hand.Prince Leonardo's eyes narrowed at the sight. A slight growl released as he shifted his glance back at his Beta who didn't seem to get the hint.I caught the action."What are you waiting for, Your Highness?" Dylan directed at me, but I could feel the prince's scowl. Before he didn't want anything to do with me, so why did he care if his Beta walked me upstairs? Then, the prince stepped forward, brushing r

Chapter 9 : Will He Come Tonight?
I managed to remake the roasted duck and red curry to the same quality as last time, but I had the maids prepare the rest of the side dishes and carry out the tableware. I arrived right before sundown and put a little too much effort into my outfit and makeup. That was the hopeful part of me still alive. I brought the leather holster that I embroidered for the prince and placed it in the middle of the table setting. There was the slightest breeze whirling off the gentle creek, and it enlivened my spirit which was rather downtrodden and depleted recently. The ends of my hair pulled tightly in a high ponytail, brushed against my face in the wind as a reminder that I was human, not a princess without consequence.I smoothed my long, silken magenta gown and tucked it carefully under my thighs, as my legs extended in front of me, the princess' cream-colored Chanel espadrilles peeking out at the end of the dress.Whether or not the prince came tonight, my mind was finall

Chapter 10 : Preparing for the Big Night
Where was the prince?!It had been over a day since I'd seen him around the palace and I was unsettled by the time that was wasted in his absence. I approached his room and noticed Dylan in the hallway. He was the perfect person to ask."Dylan, how are you?" I questioned and his eyes lit up at my presence."I couldn't be better, Your Highness." He offered a small smile before he added, "And you?""Actually, that's what I came up here for. Do you know where the prince is?" I asked, the nerves building in my stomach."Oh, Alpha, he's going to be gone for about a week or so on a military expedition down here. He's scouting the territories offered in the peace treaty."Gone for a week or so! Not even an exact return date! That was at least seven days less I had to win him over. "But…will he at least be coming back?" Sweat started pooling around my forehead as the thought of not seeing the prince meant not making any progress."He informed me of his intention to do so. But, yo
