Jace snorts, and Esme rolls her eyes. “Can you save your advances for later? I want to eat,” I say, my gaze fixed on the feast before me. It’s all Asian cuisine—my favorite! Sushi, sashimi, deep-fried snacks, rice dishes, an array of meats, fried vegetables… Everything I love, including my go-to snack: soybeans.

There’s a moment’s silence before he says, “Anything but fish.” The line goes dead, and I scrunch my nose while I wonder what to get him to eat. Something that’s not messy and easy to eat. I check the menus of nearby restaurants and decide to get fried chicken and bacon sandwiches. After I place the order, I continue compiling a performance report from all the information the department heads sent me.

She was almost close to the server while waiting for the girl in front of her. "Well, to me personally, I can eat everything in the proper portion, as long as it is not too much," Bastian revealed his eating habit. "Wow. It's so rare to find out that an Alpha is willing to eat everything." Margie couldn't believe her ears, but she felt that the truth was pleasant to know. In that moment, it was her time to have the meals. Once it had been served on her tray, she was out from the queue and wait for Bastian. She dished out their Chinese takeout, and they sat in front of the TV. "Who eats Chinese from a plate?" Natalie grumbled as she took her serving of beef chowfan. She ate it straight from the carton normally. No dishes. Less cleaning. "How can I take you anywhere if you still want to eat out of boxes?" Emily gave it right back, sticking out her tongue childishly. They ate in silence for a while, Emily glued to the screen, fascinated by the different teams racing around to find and capture flags hidden all over the country. "Maybe we should do something like this for the team picnic, an amazing race type of thing. What do you think, Nat?"

At that moment, he was filled with inexplicable joy. All this fighting had actually made Eve hungry. She took out her phone and started ordering takeout from the upscale Chinese restaurant at the hotel down the corner– Peking Kitchen– which was known for its amazing sweet and sour pork, expansive dim sum spread, and selection of imported white and sparkling wines. With Damon chiming in to order some food, too, they went through practically the entire menu. It was obvious that each dish had come from a five-star hotel– the flavors were perfect. As she ate happily, Damon suddenly said, “Don’t eat too much at night! It’s not good for your health. Besides, aren't you afraid of gaining weight?”
