The Mage's Heart
I spat more blood.
“I don’t know, I’m not a siren,” he glanced into the torture chamber. “But I’d do it soon, if I was you.”
I closed my eyes and tried to think.
The ground shook, and from above, I could hear voices raised in terror, a roar, and screams, as the tremors increased. Dust rained from above, and the instruments of torture that were strung against the walls chimed as they shook.
“ - ” the man said, his tone alarmed. “Is it an earthquake.”
