Scott took the glass and held it up to his face for a few seconds, then he took one sip, and another, and another before dropping the glass.
“Not so bad now, is it?” she smiled and walked over to the other side of the desk and sat. “Can we talk before you finish your drink and I leave?”
“Sure, Claire.”
My mother took a sip of her drink, dropped the glass slowly on the desk, and leaned over, resting her elbows on the table. “I want to talk about Sabrina.”
“Sabrina?” Scott's brows furrowed. “What about your daughter?”
“Exactly... my daughter,” she muttered. “Why, my daughter? I mean... she doesn’t look better than me. She can’t be better than the original.”
