The mountains in the distance were a magnificent purple in the setting sun. “Do you remember Skyridge Peak?” Scott asked suddenly. “I remember,” I nodded. It was the pack’s sacred place, and the cliff I’d jumped from in two lifetimes. “I go there often to think,” Scott said. “Imagine how things would be if I’d made different choices. But eventually, I understood. We can’t change the past. We can only learn from it and move forward.”

Because he was right. Kai turned and continued down the path. “Come on.” Lena followed reluctantly. The forest grew thicker the farther they walked. The air felt colder now. Strange animal cries echoed somewhere in the distance. After a while, Lena spoke again. “You knew this would happen, didn’t you?” Kai didn’t turn. “Knew what?” “That the council wasn’t done with me.” For a moment, only the wind moved through the trees. Then Kai slowed. “You’re an Echo,” he said.

Gemma stood a short distance away, rain running down her face. I had never seen her look so broken. She held a dagger in one hand. She said, "Miles, I'm sorry. To you, to Zack, and to Grandma. One Echo went down screaming as a dart hit him. I closed my eyes and reached for the resonance inside me. Kael’s hand gripped my waist, grounding me. I focused on the pleasure still lingering in my body from earlier, on the bond between us, and pushed. A wave of blue-gold energy rippled outward from me. The soldiers stumbled. Some dropped their weapons as their own tech started glitching. Several nearby Echoes steadied, their eyes clearing. “It’s working!” Rafe shouted. But it wasn’t enough. More soldiers poured in. One of them spotted me and raised a strange rifle.

I said seriously, as i slowly walk closer to the portal which is now still bright. This is the path that we all dream of. Being in the world of Echor. World where we belong. I smiled happily. I am ready to leave everything, I will start again in this new world. I even heard Hygge call my name but I ignored him instead I inserted my hand into the bright portal. "What do you know about my past?" Echo's smile was enigmatic. "I know that you're not who you think you are," she said. "I know that you've been manipulated, controlled. But I can help you break free."

“It knows how to hold balance… but it chooses extremes first. Grief, then joy. Pain, then fleeting relief. It’s… evolving.” Sophia placed her hands on the edge of the growing structure.
