“Did you make it up?” Ed was disgusted. They reached the last flight of stairs at the top of the big farmhouse.
“No”
“What you kids make up these days.”
“You didn’t ask me what happens after they drink you,” he said.
“Alright. What do they do to you after they drink you?”
“Well,” he said, carefully and solemnly, a small voice from the darkness beside Ed. “Once you are just skin and bones, they hang you on a hook, and you clatter in the wind.”
