Bella's POV I went to bed immediately after dinner. Fearing the worst about Eric exposing my secret to my husband, I had a nightmare, pulling me back in time. I was back in that house. Eric's house. It was our home, but it never once felt like I was part of it. Every room in that mansion seemed to carry Grace's judgment, as though her disapproval had seeped into the walls, staining the very air.

My silence invited tension between us and she too felt it because she lifted her charming hazel eyes to mine and blinked. The fact that she always became clunky, whenever I was this close to her, made me wonder what it would be like to actually have her. I can't believe I lived with Bella for three solid years and still left her untouched. We shared the same room, slept on the same bed every night.....yet I did nothing. Her lips parted but no sound came out. I waited, staring at them and willing them to open again so she could speak. I wondered what she had to say. My eyes lingered on her lips, and calmly.... just calmly came the subtle reminder. I've never kissed Bella before.

Edward As I listened to Bella's voice, it was soft and slightly trembling, echoing in the room as I scrubbed the walls beside her. She spoke of feeling isolated, of yearning for me to be closer. Her words pierced through me, leaving a lingering ache that I struggled to comprehend. She was oblivious to the imminent danger that lurked around us. How could I make her understand that my father was not just a haunting figure in my thoughts, but a menacing and merciless monster in reality? The warning he had issued, the blood-stained ring he had left behind, was not a mere threat; it was a chilling promise of the horrors to come.

Seeing it was me, Edward snapped, "Vanessa, don't you know how to knock?" "I didn't know I had to knock to enter my own bedroom. Maybe I should ask my etiquette tutor. It seems like I'm getting a bit rusty." Hearing this, Edward laughed. "Are you jealous because of this?" "You're not worth my jealousy," I said calmly. "Edward, we're breaking up. Take your woman with you and get out of my house." A cold glint flashed in his eyes. The woman beside him snuggled into his arms and shot me a smug look. "Edward, she's so fierce. I'm scared."

“See? Fun.” Bella rolled her eyes. “Pathetic.” I leaned in, my lips barely grazing the shell of her ear. “Why don’t you teach me, then?” She tensed, her breath catching for the briefest second. Good. “I will,” she whispered back, her voice deceptively sweet. “If you can keep your hands to yourself.” Then she turned, her body falling into the rhythm of the music, hips swaying, movements slow and sensual. I watched, amused and dangerously intrigued.

“It’s already finalized. There’s no going back now.” Bella’s expression hardened, but before she could hurl another insult, I tilted my head, a knowing smile playing at my lips. “Alright. If that’s your wish, I won’t force you. But… did I ever tell you that you have a father? And he’s not dead, Bella. He’s alive. Surviving a war. Fighting a disease. And I’ve been paying for his medicines all these years.” She scoffed. “That’s a joke.” I chuckled, low and bitter. “Of course, you’d think that. You’ve been fed lies your whole life. But I can do you a favor, sweetheart. I can show you his face… let you judge for yourself.”

“I’m sorry but I don’t love you. When I proposed to her I promised to love her forever and I still do.” Zia felt a smile spread across her face. “But she left you! Try me! I would never do that!” barked Belinda. “Ms. Cogzell…” Edward approached her. “No! Why won’t you try dating me?!” Edward put his hands on her shoulders. “Because you’re not her.” Then he removed his touch. “I’m sorry.” He went back to Zia. Zia and Edward turned around and started walking off when Belinda said, “So if she’s gone I’ll finally have my place?”
