Ary stood there for a long while, the screen dimming in his hand, his reflection ghosting across the glass.
He exhaled slowly, but the tension sat heavily on his shoulders like the weight of her words that echoed.
“You don’t own me.”
He wondered why she would say something like that.
Though he knew it would have more to do with her broken marriage than with him, it disturbed him more than he wanted to admit.
