A Blind Gamble: The Mate I Never Chose

A Blind Gamble: The Mate I Never Chose

“Kaleb… I don’t think I want to question him any longer. Feel free to do as you please.” “You murdered a priestess,” Kaleb pressed down harder, bone snapping beneath the pressure. “I’ll enjoy taking pieces of you.” “The old lady had no place among the Alethine,” Chronicle said. “What is the point of a stray? It should be cut off.” “Enough!” Rune growled. His voice sounded wrong, hollow. He began coughing violently, blood spilling from his mouth and nostrils. “You don’t look too good, Feign,” Chronicle muttered, tilting his head as Rune collapsed, coughing up black sludge.

The Hephaestia Chronicles - Book One

The Hephaestia Chronicles - Book One

Before anyone can answer her the door to the queen's chambers are smashed open and armed men, stained with blood, swarm into the room, led by a well dressed man with golden hair. "So the queen is dead. What of her child?" he asks, venom dripping from his voice. "Died with its mother." The healer lies. The man glances around the room, the remaining occupants nodding their agreement over the healer's statement. "So be it." with a small gesture from him, the armed men move into the room with their swords drawn. As the blood pools and soaks into the plush carpet, the pendant lays gleaming.

Bloodmoon Chronicles

Bloodmoon Chronicles

Skylar was momentarily distracted by the scroll she was reading that she forgot to question what he had just said not what odd thing he had witnessed, but nevertheless, the old man pressed on. " There are drugs used for such and the healers who brewed such were considered evil. Because it is an abomination to" " Then why are you studying it if those who learn the science of it are considered evil?" She blurted, not convinced. " Come" he muttered to her and stood up, beckoning to her to follow him into a hidden lair in the house. Skylar gasped when she saw a dead body opened on the body. Her gaze turned to the healer. Allegations piled up in her mind.

Dead Weight

Dead Weight

Something Maya has no useful word for. The word would have to describe a man aiming twelve bodies the way she would aim one rifle, and English, having spent centuries finding twelve ways to describe uncomfortable chairs, apparently never prepared for this. Marcus turns the pack. Points it. The dead come over the west fence and meet a thing already there to meet them. One animal with thirty heads.

Dirty Valentine’s Secret

Dirty Valentine’s Secret

One Year After the Liquidation The world did not end when the "Master-Ledger" died. It simply grew smaller, slower, and infinitely louder. Without the constant, high-frequency hum of the "Chronicle" towers, the sounds of the "Analog" world had returned with a vengeance: the rhythmic slap of the tide against the Maine cliffs, the wind whispering through the hemlocks, and the chaotic, unscripted chatter of people in the streets.

Supreme Emperor of Swords

Supreme Emperor of Swords

There were no pupils in his eye sockets, but two black hole-like abysses, where stars were vaguely flickering and nebulae were moving slowly. He waved his hand gently. The powerful Spirits of the Dead who had been following him seemed to have received some sort of order. They passed by him, possessed and entered the corpses on the square that had been dead for tens of thousands of years. In the next instant, something strange happened. The corpses that had been dead for tens of thousands of years suddenly emitted a green coquettish light from the inside out. The blood in their bodies had dried up and turned into solid bodies. The clothes on their bodies were rotten like dried linen. The weap

Iron Serpent Chronicles

Iron Serpent Chronicles

"He's been moving things around on Kiema's board for at least a couple of months. Who knows how much longer he's been doing it? Why does he need more magic anyways? When he was getting his ass kicked by Kiema, he said something about his only love. What's that?" Heppni snorted. "Outside of himself, you mean? The Prime of Death actually does have a prophecy written about him. I'll spare you the flowery speech that no one understands. Basically, he can't ever have the love of his life, because she is his very opposite. Prime of Life and Prime of Death. If they get together, all of the universes collapse essentially. The last time it happened...you've heard of the Ice Age on Earth, yes?" We all

Pestilence enunciated in a feminine tone, her head still facing the reflective surface of the floor. A hmm replied and from the darkness coalescing the throne two large eyes manifested, their afterglow cut through the darkness making it bend to their will. “I see, my trust in Nave and Azathoth failed me yet again... It's no matter. Pestilence, Famine, War and conquest you are to eliminate Escliffe at all cost.” In a booming voice, Chronos gave out the order. “Noted sir!”

The Banished Luna: She Was Meant To Rule

The Banished Luna: She Was Meant To Rule

The Totality is standing between my two selves still offering forced merge. The Collectors are waiting for answer about archiving me. And the Council’s three angry members are counting down to Reset with satisfaction. “Two days and twenty hours remaining,” they announce. Then something shifts in the gap that makes Anna gasp. “The three thousand dead are moving,” she says with shock. “All of them at once, unified in purpose.” I look through Death’s Keeper awareness and see it happening, the three thousand souls I anchored as Void-Dead, who I protected as Death’s Shepherd, all rising with singular intent.

Confessions Of An Exorcist

Confessions Of An Exorcist

He replied while looking around the house “Till death took away my joy” “I didn’t come to hear your story, save it for your fellow human” he said looking at her daughter’s picture “Then why are you here?” He throws an old brown pouch at her “Inside is how to call up the dead. I believe the town will love the show” Jessica opens the bag and inside is a small bottle and an old dirty beat up scroll—inside the bottle is a drop of blood and written in the scroll are chants to raise the dead

I have to say, this is an excellent read, right from the first chapter it just grasps you. I know it isn't comedy but the choice of words just had me giggling. I just know it's about to get intense. If you're wandering whether to read it or not, take it from me, you must! You won't regret it!

I love the dark part of this story. It's touchy and realistic. Even though I just read the first chapter, I felt every meaningful touch and idea the author wanted to pass through. I'm so impressed and I definitely love this. Keep it up, writer.
