She picked up another book which she had brought from the shelves, but it was definitely not anything the mortal lands had ever seen. The gold cover of the book was encrusted with precious stones, and the pages were as soft as feathers, and as white as a dove. Aelanor was sure it was surely dove feathers pressed in the form of pages. Nimuel picked them up softly with her fingers, and turned a few pages. "It says here that the elven lands stretch for a few empires, due West, where The Realm of the Shadows starts" she looked up.

The great marble halls of the Grand Academy of Eldoria were quiet as the final twilight of the century settled over the spires. Rows of towering stained-glass windows illuminated the polished floors with deep hues of violet, amber, and crimson. At the very end of the gallery, a massive semicircular window depicted two grand, sweeping figures: a wolf woven from brilliant golden fire and a phoenix rising from silver starlight, their wings overlapping to protect the worlds nestled beneath them. A young elven instructor stood before the vibrant display, her hand resting gently on the shoulder of her young son, who was staring up at the glass with wide, reflective eyes.
