Luna described Eleanor's confession, her final moments, the strange peace that had settled over them all when she passed.
"Eleanor was broken," Elise said thoughtfully. "Broken by love that was never returned, by ambition that consumed her humanity, by choices she couldn't take back. I pity her, even after everything she did."
"You can afford to be generous," Helena said. "You won. Your daughters survived, found each other, and are building something beautiful together. Eleanor died with nothing but regrets."
"Still, I hope she found peace at the end." Elise shifted in bed, wincing slightly. "Now, tell me about the patents. What have you decided to do with David's research?"
