Elena took a deep breath and looked away from the audience. She instead looked ahead at the former priest turned mafia man and Gavino. Elena was determined to focus on the wedding. She watched as the bride walked down the aisle, flower petals scattering as she approached the altar. From one look the couple shared, Elena could tell the bride and groom clearly love each other. Though Elena had never met Gavino's fiancée, she knew in her heart that the two would make a happy couple.

It's my job, as the bridesmaid, to have the bride on time. I lean over to tie the ribbon on my ankle sandal. Just as my eyes are focused on the ground, someone touches my shoulder. I think hopefully it's Ethan, but his hands are smaller and more delicate. -"Yes?" I turn to find none other than Elena Lincoln. Holy shit! What she's doing here is a question with an obvious answer. And the design was perfect. Everything. From her bridal robe to bridesmaid dresses, to her wedding gown and even her second dress. Everything was made to perfection. Her mum, Susan had hired the best Florist in Australia to beautify everything. The best chefs, the wine was specially ordered from France.

, I frowned. "Don't you want to know who will be your bride now?", He asked to which I raised my brow. "She is the elder daughter of the Vampire's King, Lenora.", I didn't know why but this news didn't give me any happiness. I pouted. “It’s Mr. Alfred’s daughter Vanessa’s engagement. That’s why we’re here.” He finally elaborated, “now, how about---” “Kai Eldorado!!” Two men stalked in our direction occupying the air with their alcoholic breaths, my gaze shifted towards Kai who had now clenched his fists with ire, probably because they called him Kai Eldorado.

To my surprise, a council member is already waiting. The man stands at my arrival. “Maxwell, so nice to see you again.” His eyes look around and disappointment shows on his face, making him appear older than he is. “Where’s your bride?” “So nice to see you again as well, Eugene. My bride won’t be joining us tonight. Her presentation’s not ready. If that’s the only reason for you being here, I’m greatly sorry for your displeasure.”

“ Camille nodded. Jeffery sat in the driver seat while Sean sat in the front, while Camille sat in the back with the kids. ”Wow, Vanessa, you look beautiful. I could barely recognize you.“ she held her cheeks. Vanessa's eyes brightened, ” Really! Do you think I will find my true love at the event, I want to look beautiful when I find him.“ Camille rubbed her head, laughing, ” Why don't we find out? You might truly meet him there.“

Dressed in an elegant gown that complemented the occasion, Emma's eyes sparkled with a mixture of pride and affection. "You look stunning, my dear," Emma uttered as her eyes started to wet while looking at Ethel. Tears glistened in Emma's eyes as she beheld Ethel, the young woman she had watched blossom into a radiant bride. Ethel, overcome with emotion at the sight of Emma, rushed forward and embraced her. "Mother, I'm so grateful you're here. I want this day to be perfect, and I can't imagine walking down the aisle without you by my side," Ethel whispered, her voice filled with love and gratitude.

“God, I hope he doesn’t. That man lives for watching me fail. He’ll have a field day.” Elena tries to smile. “Well… at least you’ll look great in a wedding dress when he makes fun of you? And I’ll be your back up.” I raise my eyebrow. “Did you just call dibs on bridesmaid duty?” She smirks. “I mean, if you’re gonna walk down the aisle for a contract marriage, you deserve backup. Even if the groom might glare through the whole thing.” “Thanks, Elena. For still being here.” “Always. I may not have blackmail skills like Eleanor, but I’ve got your back.”
