Elena's Dress At The Mikaelson Ball の小説・ストーリー

"You are treating her like cargo you're afraid to scratch, and you are doing it in the name of protection, which is the oldest and laziest excuse men in this family have ever used." Kade opened his mouth. "I'm not finished." Elena looked at him until he closed it again. Then she turned to me, and her expression was impossible to read, not soft, not cruel, but something stripped of performance entirely. "You want to attend the Crescent Ball." "Yes." "Then you'll attend." She tucked the folio under her arm. "I'll have the tailors sent to your room tomorrow morning. Wear something with structure, the Capital crowd responds to confidence."

The elite of Vaelthorne City has gathered to meet the mysterious Masked Queen. "Remember," Marcus said as a valet opened Elena's door, "you are the most powerful person at this party. They need you. You don't need them." Elena nodded and stepped out of the car. Immediately, heads turned. People who were walking toward the entrance stopped and stared. A woman in a red dress actually gasped. Elena walked slowly up the stone steps to the front door, very aware that everyone was watching her. The dress moved beautifully as she walked, the crystals catching the light from the mansion's exterior lamps.

Drasa’s POV Cassian and I stepped back into the ballroom, the cold night air of the courtyard still clinging to my skin like a second layer. The sounds of music and laughter rushed back at us like a crashing wave, and for a second, it almost drowned out the buzzing in my head. Almost. But then I saw her. Elena. Standing in the middle of the dance floor, surrounded by a cluster of elites, red dress glowing like a warning flare. Her head tilted back as she laughed, voice bright, performative, just loud enough to carry across the room.

It was a Vespera dress. "Lysander is a sinking ship," Elara decided, pulling the dress on. "I'm not going to drown with him again. This time, I'm taking the lifeboat." The Grand Hotel Ballroom. The Founders’ Gala. 8:00 PM. The music was soft, the champagne was cold, and the air was thick with ambition. Elara walked into the room. She wasn't clinging to Lysander’s arm. In fact, when Lysander had tried to grab her waist earlier, asking why she was dressed like a "high-end escort," she had slapped his hand away and told him to go fetch the car.

He walked toward me, ignoring the teasing from our friends, his focus entirely locked on me. "You look..." He paused, shaking his head as if he couldn't find a word powerful enough. "Isabella, you look like a dream I don't want to wake up from. That dress... it was made for you." "Get a room, you two!" Mia chirped, giving Elias a playful nudge. "We have a gala to attend, and I’m pretty sure the red carpet doesn't wait for star-crossed lovers to finish staring at each other." Elias chuckled, checking his watch. "She’s right. If we don’t leave now, we’ll be fashionably late, and I’m pretty sure Lucas Thorne hates being kept waiting."

She wasn't quite ready to veto Lenore yet. Elena nodded and helped Eloise into the new dress. It was ill fitting and the colour did indeed make her look lifeless. "I look like a prostitute in this thing, don't I?" Elena agreed and helped her out of it. Then she put on the blue dress and Elena's smile spread across her face. "You know that this is the one you have to wear," she said confidently. Eloise couldn't help but agree. It looked like it had been made especially for her. Elena did her makeup and she'd only just left when the phone rang. It was Vincenzo telling her that the car to take her to the chapel was waiting. Eloise was sure that Lenore had said that she'd be walking to the chape

But tonight… tonight the real betrayal would make itself known, dressed in silk and diamonds. Elena had come because the invitation was impossible to ignore. ‘“You’ll want to be there for this”,’ it read, unsigned. And now, as the crowd stirred and whispered, she watched her godmother glide across the room in an obsidian dress that shimmered like oil under the lights. Viper was radiant, timeless, every movement deliberate, every glance a warning. “Ladies and gentlemen”, the announcer’s voice echoed. “Your attention, please”, Elena held her breath.

For one suspended moment, the ballroom forgot how to breathe. She wore silver tonight. Not overly extravagant. No desperate performance of wealth. But the gown flowed softly around her like moonlight against glass while diamonds rested carefully against her throat. Elegant. Untouchable. And somehow still unmistakably Elena. Except—She no longer looked like someone apologizing for existing. Alexander walked beside her while Noah and Raphael followed behind. Dominic and Julian moved through the crowd with colder awareness, already tracking reactions across the room. Whispers spread instantly. “That’s her?” “She looks exactly like Evelynn.” “Oh my God…” “Lancaster actually divorced her?”

"All the families will be there. It'll send a message that you're alive and well. And it'll give Vincent a chance to see you, if he shows up." I hesitated for a moment, then nodded. I knew it was time to face him. Time to end this, once and for all. Elijah had a gown sent over for me: a simple black silk dress, floor-length, with long sleeves that covered the scar on my arm. It fit me perfectly. When I looked in the mirror, I saw Isabella Capelli again. Strong. Unbreakable. When we walked into the ballroom together, the room fell silent. Every head turned. Whispers spread through the crowd like wildfire.

She also revealed the true score between her and Edward and used the occasion to invite her friends to the upcoming masquerade ball at Joaquin's mansion. "I will be happy to do your hair and makeup," Bruce said, giving her a reassuring smile. Ella opened the box containing the red gown Edward had given her previously. She was unable to wear it at the previous masquerade ball, and she believes that now is the ideal time to do so. They were about to prepare for the party by going to the storeroom to try on the gown when the bell at the shop's main entrance rang. Dionisia hurriedly went to see who was trying to get in the shop despite her putting the closed signage on the door. After a few mome
