The Shadow Beside The Moon
A path opened behind Elara and Kael, leading upward toward what looked like the sky, even though they were still inside.
“Go,” the voices whispered. “Take what you have found. Share it wisely. That is the only protection it needs.”
Elara reached out and lifted the chronicle. It felt light, almost weightless, but full like it held a thousand stories all waiting to be told. She held it close, then took Kael’s hand.
They looked back once. Malakor and Vane were already retreating, the dark magic fading around them, the entrance behind them starting to close up again. Then they turned and walked into the glowing path ahead, leaving the cave behind them, carrying the truth with them.
