“Trust me, you're not the first.” As if they both suddenly realised the court had gone quiet, Mia and Ellie looked back at us, recognition sinking hard the moment her eyes met mine. “Mia?” I muttered. She looked away almost immediately. “Uh, babe” Ellie spoke. “This is my aunt. Mia Sinclair. She works with the media team that'll be covering our games.” What?! “Uh, nice to meet you, miss Mia” Zane replied, suddenly sounding respectful. “The pleasure’s all mine. Ellie's told me good things about you.”

River was always so quick to respond to her messages. "If you don't mind." Ellie sat back down behind her desk, going back over the conversation she'd had with Sylvia and trying to remember all of the details she'd been given. Being suspicious of other people wasn't always a quality she was proud of, but as a Luna, she had to be careful. We are leaving for Chicago; the game is on. Ellie sits close to me on the plane, and we have one of our normal funny chats, about work, people, politics, etc. We always have these sorts of inside-jokes, easy conversations.
