My train of thought cuts off immediately and I look down at her, “You met a woman in the woods?” Emery nods and moves away so she can look at me properly. My body mourns the loss of her warmth but she’s intent now. Serious in the way she only gets when she feels something is important, “She could read my mind, Raiden. She said her name is Irene.
