Camlin retrieved the rapier to toss it again. “Vampires,” Kayla whispered as realization struck her. The rapier was of silver, and it burned the soldier. The three v’s on their arm badges. Terror consumed Kayla. “V Empire.” A loud bang. The glass wall behind Kayla and the rest shattered, shards of glass flying through the air. They parried the shards with their hands shielding their eyes, swiveling their heads aside. Some shrieked and bent over. The next second, one of the vampires flew into the room through the broken glass and grabbed Kayla, disappearing immediately.

She slipped past the invisible barrier. Emily gasped, trying to turn, but the vampire was already there. Cold, dead fingers gripped her arm. "Found you," the vampire whispered in her ear. SLASH. Talons raked down Emily’s forearm. It wasn't a deep cut, but it was agonizing. It felt like ice water had been injected into her veins. Emily cried out, clutching her arm. Blood—bright, hot, human blood—spilled onto the snow. The scent hit the vampires like a drug. They groaned, their eyes glazing over with lust.

When they get the chance, run like mad. The door opened again making Ember jump, this time Red came in. “Let’s go, m’lady.” He smirked and made a mocking bow as he gestured for her to follow him out of the hut. She glared at him and walked out. She saw there were about fifty vampires moving about breaking down camp. The fire she had seen had only been one of ten spread out through the forest. She didn’t recognize a thing as she glanced around her. She had the sudden urge to run when she felt a hand clamp hard around her bicep.

Emily said dolefully. "What if it's a no? Will you not marry him?" Esen asked. "Don't scare me, Esen," Emily's eyes filled with tears as she spoke. "Well, let's leave it all. I don't want to think too much about it now. You tell me, what don't you understand? What is the case that has confused you so much?" She took the virus reports from Esen's hand and read them while making weird faces. "What virus is this? I mean, do werewolves also spread a virus? I haven't heard about it until now."

But holding it in wasn't going to make her situation any better. "Damn it Khloe I'm not going to punish you for crying." I finally said. I guess that's all she needed to hear because the next thing I knew, she was burying her face in my chest, finally letting her feelings show. I just laid there, holding her there as she cried. Most Vampires don't understand the mentality of humans. They don't allow their pets to show emotions and then get bored of their pets because they act like emotionless zombies. They don't understand that forcing a human to suppress how their feeling is just setting them up for failure.

“What can I get you, sir?” “I’ll take a Bloody Mary.” The bartender grabs a glass and some of the bottles that are nearby and starts the drink. Like the drop of a hat something comes over me. “You know what,” I slide the tray fully back onto the counter, “I will take a drink. Surprise me; just make sure it’s strong.” My head jerks in Maxwell’s direction, “And I have a feeling that he would love his drink to be extra bloody and maybe a Victoria instead of a Mary. Marys seem too uptight,” I interrupt. What kind of vampire can drink Bloody Marys anyways? Is the bartender in on his secret and he adds a little something extra to it when no one’s looking?

"The Empress is dead. I saw her body myself." Cafer knew that only definitive proof would work at this point, and yet he technically had none. "Is that so?" An all-too-familiar voice said behind him. "Tell me what my body looked like, Chief Cafer?" The crowd cheered, "Glory to the Empress!" The Chief balled his fists and turned to look at the Empress. She looked so fierce, that he unconsciously took a step away from her. Her blue-flecked eyes exuded confidence. Cafer marveled at the transformation.

Nick and I nodded, “Do you accept your position as queen of the vampires and relinquish your life to the vampires as a hybrid?” “Yes.” “NO!” Mara yelled, but we continued, “Do you accept her as your queen, lover and mate?” Mandy asked Nick, he nodded, “Yes.” She took a knife and cut my hand first and then Nick’s, “This is the blood oath, this will bind your souls together for eternity.” She then muttered words in another language that sounded romanian or greek. She then placed our hands together and Nick bit my neck; I winced at the sudden pain but it soon disappeared

Walking in I watch as everyone stays quiet. I see Evan look towards the fire exit, moving I rush to block it, grabbing him I throw him back. "What do you know?" "Well, the princess won't be ruling the city for long, that is for sure." He laughs, moving I punch him. "Who took her?" "You kill me you will never know." He smiles smugly. "I was expecting your visit, after standing right there watching them talk and listening, I couldn't wait to watch her empire fall down."
