I was unable to keep up. The third warrior took hold of my arm and twisted it till I heard a cracking sound that made my stomach turn. After my dagger fell, I gave a painful growl and gave him a headbutt to free myself. I managed to seize a dropped blade during the brief respite, but my eyesight became hazy and the edges darkened. Sensing my vulnerability, they circled once more. The leader smirked and raised his weapon for the final blow, saying, "This is where it ends, Lucas."

Leno said pointedly. I fold my arms in front of me. “Anything else, Beta Leeeeeno,” I said, scoffing while dragging his name. He stepped forward, standing in front of me. “You know you are lucky it was me and not my mate,” he said, grinning menacingly. I visibly shudder. I am not a warrior. I barely went through the training to shift our first time. But Nora came from another pack. She is scary in combat. I gulped and nodded. “Good, you do have a guard outside. Just ask him what you need, and we will get it,” he said while he walked away, his back to me, waving his hand.

When the battle is over, you're supposed to return home, and life slowly drifts back into a normal, mundane routine. No more fighting. No more bloodshed. No more death. That was supposed to be normal. At least for normal people that would be normal. However, Rhychard Bartlett, Warrior of the Way, understood that he could no longer be considered a normal person. That life ended four months ago. Now, his normal consisted of faeries and gnomes and demons and dark elves, some fighting alongside him, some fighting against him. His normal would blow most people's minds.

The Alpha replied after a long pause of silent thinking. “I’ll disband the warriors and let you rest enough for two more days and after that, we will continue our discussion” with these words, Alpha Calhoun closed the door and left. “I need to handle this impertinent man before he goes out of control” the Alpha said within him before leaving completely.

When I went outside, I saw that our men had rounded up Kai men, the rebellious one was killed and the rest surrendered as they saw me outside. Jared announced the war was over, he ordered them to rest, a feast would be prepared later. I made him do the count and aftermath, while I ordered someone to escort his mate here. Not knowing where to go, I went to my old room, the one I shared with Roman. When I got there, I saw that my things were covered or hidden. My box was scattered and so were some of the things I owe. Maybe he tried letting me go, maybe I should just go like I had planned.

~ZEPHYR~ Finally, after three long months, the war was finally over. I stood atop the battered walls, my sword raised above my head, as I screamed out to the warriors who had participated in the war. Even though few lives were lost, we had succeeded in getting rid of our enemies. ‘’It is over!’’ I shouted. ‘’The war is finally over.’’ A roar erupted from the crowd as they started shouting. Hands clasped together, fists pumped into the air, and voices chanting my name.

"The war is over, there isn't any reason to worry anymore." Ezra simply chuckled while giving Elaina a small wave. Looking around Elaina watched as the area around her began to melt and fade before contorting and forming into the area right outside of the warriors bunkard. Many scurried around helping their comrades who had been injured in the final battle they had to fight against Rathials undead army. Attempting to stand Elaina was reminded that part of her leg was missing once more and she wasn't able to walk. Flapping her wings she lifted off the ground taking in the scene.

Laurier smiled in realization and he let go of her the next instant. Raelynn took deep breaths as she calmed her raging heart and she stared at the man in confusion. Laurier stared back a her with a victorious smile on his face and that was when the realization hit her. “You dropped your sword, sweetheart. I won the fight.”
