Uncle Eren stood at the foot of the bed, his arms crossed, eyes suspiciously shiny. He cleared his throat loudly. “Well, you’re tougher than I gave you credit for.”
“Eren,” I teased, “you’re crying.”
“I am not.”
“Yes, you are.”
His jaw tightened, but he reached down and ruffled Manolya’s hair gently. She laughed, but then winced, pressing her head.
“Careful,” I scolded. “She’s still hurt.”
