I rushed behind him. “What about Eira?” I asked as my feet quickened behind him. “She will be fine. I trust Leo not to let any harm befall her,” he softly said, and I could barely hear him. We got to the elevator, and he shoved me right in as I refused to get in. Slaves were not meant to use the elevators. There was CCTV in them and this annoying Gamma was gonna end up getting me in trouble. The elevator moved and fear gripped me like a vice. I pinned myself in a corner, but he stepped closer and pulled me into his body. I tried to break free, but stayed still because I felt better this way. The elevator stopped and the door opened.

Evan shouted, urgency cracking through his voice. “I said not yet!” Levi demanded. “Who do you think we are, Levi?!” Evan snapped. Levi stepped forward, voice carrying across the wall. “We’re supposed to be our nation’s strongest line. If anyone wants to go I won’t stop you! I don’t blame you for choosing life,” he declared firmly. “But as for me, I swore to lay down my life to make sure everyone can know peace! Even if I have to fight alone I’ll die fighting to liberate the North until my last breath!”

Dante yawned, stretching out his arms. I released a breath and clicked my tongue, knowing full well that things were far from over. "Dante, it’s only the beginning," I sighed deeply. "What?" Dante sat up. I looked around to make sure no one was around, then leaned closer. "Levi is a fed. He doesn’t know we know." I whispered. “His name isn’t even…” There was no need to beat around the bush when all routes would lead to the same end. Levi worked for the government, and that was that. Now I waited for Dante’s reaction.
