he growled after paying. “You forgot something” we turned to see Pierre; the poor man was carrying all the bags “The underwear is missing.” "Ah, fuck,” Alex groaned, squeezing my hand even more. Pierre started laughing as he guided us to "La perla", the most beautiful underwear store I had ever seen. “Don't these people know what cotton is?” mumbled Alex annoyed “These clothes are transparent allover” "Hey, Abbie, check this out." I looked confused at the diaphanous "cloth” that Pierre was showing me, just a triangle of black cloth held by three strips.

“Yeah, but he is always not in the class.” Levi chuckled this time before messing my hair. “Silly, he is just in the field since he is part of the varsity. But he could not go wrong in class. He’s smart.” My brows furrowed. “How did you know?” Levi shrug his shoulder. “His name is always on the university portal, ranking third in the over-all seniors in journalism.” I widen my eyes at Levi but he is just shrugging his shoulders. “It’s obvious that you are not always visiting our portal for a University update. This woman.”

He goes after any and all injustice, and he's good with this shit. I met Levi my freshman year in college, and we've been thick ever since. He's not my lawyer just because of his intelligence and case record, but because of his personality, because of the man he is. A standup guy with a heart of gold and the instincts of a school of piranha scenting fresh blood in the dirty waters of the Amazon. And he loves fucking with anyone who fucks with me.

Levi, gazing out the window with a now relaxed expression, finally spoke as the sedan came to a stop in front of the mansion. "Find that guy and bring him to me, alive." Upon hearing the command, Xavier turned around, his face hinting his confusion about whom to bring. “The Baker?” Xavier asked gruffly. Suddenly, Levi's green eyes gleamed, turning red almost instantly. “The dude from his post cards, you idiot, Finn!” He growled, immediately neutralising his expression and a tiny figure rushed toward him. “Daddy! Daddy!” Lily, his four-year-old daughter, launched herself into his arms, squealing as he lifted her effortlessly.

Levi King is the polar opposite of his little brother. While they resemble one another, Levi is just as tall as Devin, standing at six-foot-two, lean and muscular. Dark, soulfully deep brown eyes lined with long, dark curly lashes that would make most girls green with envy. Light brown hair that he keeps shaved at the sides and tied up most of the time in a man bun. Levi is through and through the bad boy next door. Rides a motorbike, need I say more? The door opens a while after, revealing an eleven-year-old boy in a black top and a matching pair of khaki trousers- Derek. “You look sad?” I ask, taking his backpack off his shoulders. “Didn’t you have fun with Scott?” “You’re late. Again,” he mutters, maintaining the annoyed look on his cute little face. “They had fun,” Sofia informs, joining us outside. “Thank you,” I smile. “And by the way, you look terrible.” I look at the blue short-sleeved gown I have on and can't help but agree with her. It has some stains here and there making it look even worse than it originally was.

I stopped and ruffled my hair with my hands. “He was tough? Uptight? Don't think much about him, Louis is always suspicious until you earn his trust,” his eyes narrowed as he took another step closer. “It's one of his many ways that he proves his loyalty to me as my second in command. He just wants to make sure you got nothing to hide,” A chill ran down my spine. “So Lena,” his thumb grazed my chin and he tilted my head up a bit. “Is there something you are hiding from me?”

Levi scoffed and said, “Lex, is this reverse psychology? Are you really that eager to see me and Philip fight so that you can reap the benefits?” After saying this, Levi threw the teapot in his hand to the ground, got up, and pointed at Lex. He said angrily, “Good for you, Lex Clarke! I’ve never seen you this way before. You’ve always kept a low profile in the branch family. I didn’t expect you to have such lofty ambitions too!”

Yeah, that could only be the explanation’. “I know that you're currently talking about me in your mind”. Levi simply announced, shocking Daisy. “How did you know that?!”. Daisy was stunned and immediately asked. “Because I know you, Daisy Diego. We went to the same university. Plus, I kinda proposed to you back in the days to be my girlfriend, but because I was a jerk then, you rejected me and even told me that you could only accept me if I become somebody in life”. “Well, here I am now, Daisy. I did as you told me to, and worked harder like my life depended on it. But it was a good run after all. Because of you, I'm currently the CEO of the Extreme X industry”. Levi added before a smile app
