"Whatever. Let's go find Evan. He probably left without us." While we walked to Evan's locker together, we talked about various things. Connor learned I play guitar and I taught him the chords. It was kind of fun having someone listen to me play. When we finally did find Evan, we told him about our plans for the day. Apparently, he had nothing planned because he didn't even bring any homework with him. After spending some time chatting with Evan, Connor and I decided to leave.

That would clear a little space for him. Of course, Connor was also Evan's friend. If Gideon screwed Connor over, Evan would step in without a second thought.

Ethan asked, then sighed, rubbing his forehead, “You know you don't have to prove anything to us, little sis.” “I know, look at the bright side, because of this marriage, you and Lincoln are finally together,” Evie said cheerfully. “I couldn't even imagine the both of you together. I used to be worried that you'd end up alone, but now I'm not. I'm so happy for you, Ethan.” A slight smile escaped Ethan's lips, “I'm happy for me, too.” “I hope Connor gets caught soon.” Ethan thought about telling her about his encounter with Connor last night, but that would only get her hysterical, so he decided against it.
