HIS CONTRACT MARRIAGE
“I’ll see you later, ma’am. And don’t worry—I’ll be careful.”
“See you, Alvero. Please, stay safe,” Emma repeated, her tone earnest.
Alvero left the office and stepped into the elevator, descending to the underground garage. When he approached the black SUV, the driver handed him the keys.
“I’m not coming with you,” the driver said. “Mrs. Williams sent me on another errand.”
Alvero frowned slightly but took the keys without question. Sliding into the driver’s seat, he started the car and pulled out of the garage, merging onto the highway. The city blurred past as he picked up speed, but a niggling feeling crept into his mind.
