Abigail sheepishly entered the greenhouse, unable to make eye contact with her mother.
“Who were you speaking to just now,” asked Abigail, intrigued by their conversation. She made it sound as if it wasn’t a big deal, busying herself with the herbs closest to her. Watering them as she usually did with love and care.
“It is none of your concern, Abigail,” replied Emerald, angry that Abigail had been spying on her. “You really shouldn’t be spying on me, you know that it angers me. You know that I can always sense your presence, yet you forget.”
