Holding on I wait for him to slow down He doesn't. Screaming with my eyes closed as we go over the edge, I don't see the river beneath us until I am up to my neck in it. Gasping for breath, my arms and legs wrapped up in the horses' reins, I bob up and down, the water taking me under. So this is how I die. Some fool minstrel drowns me in a river while escaping from the city guard. I guess it could be worse. Taking one last gasp of air, I feel myself sinking. Giving up, I let myself sink, praying that it will be a quick end.
