[Briar’s POV] Later, I sit at a table with Miles, a glass of beer sitting in front of me along with some appetizers that I happily nibble on while Miles recaps our time together at the academy. As promised, after he got off work, he texted me the location of a pub that wasn’t popular so that we could talk peacefully, but to my surprise, it was busier than I was expecting.

Still, I wasn't taking chances. I lit a thick black candle and set it burning slowly, and then flipped on a signal jammer. Soon, the room was filled with haze. Even if there was something I missed, no one would be seeing anything clearly now. To complete the setup, I changed into a black wedding dress. This was the Spirit Bride Rite, after all. When everything was ready, I turned toward the bed. Max lay there, perfectly still, without the faintest sign of life. The water had left its mark, but it hadn't ruined him.

How strange is it that I prefer to stay in the cage rather than leave it? "Why are we going there?" Fiore looks straight into my eyes in that moment, a sly smile stretching her lips. "To introduce you to our world, Ellie," she begins. "To let everyone know that you are now a Black Rose." Shit. He's making a move this soon? I inhale sharply. This is it. There's no way out now. "Scared?" Fiore cocks up a brow smugly, looking like she's won a battle.

"Also, dig those black roses out, root and all. The very sight of them irritates me!" - Thirty minutes later, Alfie rushed into the study, clearly panicking. "Mr. Garnett! We've searched the whole villa, but there's no sign of Ms. Smith! But… But…" John clicked his tongue, pursing his lips as he narrowed his eyes sharply. "But, what? Speak properly!" Alfie took a deep breath, and did his best to finish his sentence. "We found Ms. Smith's clothes and phone in the soil beneath the black roses… along with a human skeleton!"

So instead of hiding in a far away place or going to where I used to stay, I thought of just going to the church, where the wedding of the two of them is being held. I hurried my run even though I could feel my body weakening. I tried to walk until I could see his face again. But in those moments something unpleasant happened there. Mina died in front of many people after she fell from the height of the church. And the most surprising thing of all was when Hera approached it without knowing that Mina was now in front of her.

Lucifer- Rosemary was making me crazy. I’d never been so entranced with anyone. She knew exactly how to get to me. When I saw her butt naked tonight in front of everyone giving that fool a lap dance, everyone wanted her, to say I was infuriated would be an understatement. I really didn’t want the company of those women trying to entertain us. My mind had been on Rosemary all night. Then when she was wanting to leave with Josiah that was the last fucking straw.

Then she asked, "Where's your brother? Has he gone back?" Briar had not seen Dean either, but he did not mind if Dean was absent. He shook his head indifferently and said, "I don't know where he went. Maybe he left early. He's not fond of fireworks anyway." Suddenly, the hall dimmed slightly, and Hesper and Rickard exchanged glances. The big screen in the hall began playing a video. The video showed the scene from earlier on the deck, where Hesper received Rickard's kiss against a backdrop of fireworks. It was a surreal and beautiful image.

REBECCA's POV (IBS-CON STUDIO) THE AUDIENCE GASPED in glee as they watched the last part of our special segment for my book: My High School Love Affair. The director added the last part when Ibarra and I had the 'iconic' – as they said – confrontation under the rain. And the kiss? It made me blush so hard upon realizing how vulnerable and in love I looked in it. But despite that, I still love how it ended. Ibarra had this precious expression that made me feel so giddy.

She jerked awake before dawn, gasping. Tomorrow was gala day. *** By six p.m. the mansion pulsed with silk gowns and whispered conspiracies. Crystal chandeliers turned champagne into molten gold.
