Moonbound
The chandelier came down between them, smashing into the table in a storm of glass and sparks.
Lucien dragged Evelyn backward, shielding her with his body. The bond screamed—literal sound now, a metallic shriek in both skulls.
And then, just as suddenly, silence.
No sound. No light.
Only breath.
Evelyn opened her eyes first. They glowed faintly, silver threaded with red. The cuff had melted, fused to her skin in a pattern identical to his mark.
