OFF LIMITS: HIS BEST FRIEND'S MOTHER
“I’m not apologizing for loving him.”
The room goes silent. The cameras zoom closer.
The host looks thrown off. “Excuse me?”
“You heard me,” I say, voice steady now. “I’m not apologizing for loving Xander Hayes.”
He opens his mouth, but I cut him off for the first time.
“Do you know what love looks like?” I ask. “Real love? The kind that doesn’t vanish when the world turns against you?”
He stares, caught off guard.
“Love is someone who stands beside you when everyone else walks away,” I say, louder. “Love is someone who fights for you when you feel like you don’t deserve it. Love is someone who loses everything… and still chooses you.”
