If only I was perfect too, if only I was that perfect, perfect enough to do all that, without having to worry about anything else, without having to worry about my hideous teeth, or chubby cheeks.
‘‘Are you okay?’’ she asked again as she snapped a few fingers in front of me.
‘‘Yeah sure,’’ I breathed, ‘‘I am great, very okay, just zoned out for a minute,’’ I explained and lied.
Lied that I wasn’t wondering for the hundredth time why she was perfect and I wasn’t, why I couldn’t be like her or everyone else around me that I knew.
‘‘Oh okay, so what are you doing?’’ she asked.
