‎He waves a hand dismissively, a small smile on his face. ‎“Don’t worry, son. We can choose a date on her behalf, and she will agree to it.” ‎Something about that doesn’t sit right with me, but I nod anyway. ‎“Okay, sir. What date are you comfortable with?” ‎He leans back, tapping his fingers lightly against the armrest as he thinks. ‎“Hmmm… how does the 28th of December sound?” His voice softens. “That is my late wife’s birthday. Bless her soul. Alice will be very happy with this date. Trust me.”

James swallowed, exchanged a quick glance with her, then asked, “Lena, what date do you think it is today?” I sighed. “Um… December 20th, 2024. Why?” He hesitated, then said softly, “Today is October 29th, 2025.” For a moment, I thought he was joking. I even let out a short laugh, waiting for him to crack a smile. But he didn’t. Lisa… my Lisa was staring at me like her heart just broke in two. She looked like she was trying hard to be cool and not be affected…. But I know her too well.

'' Anyway, I will make breakfast, get dressed for the office. '' Office? Why would I have office today?'' she yelped. '' Why is there anything special going on today?'' he asked washing down the plates. '' Today's the 10th, I have a day off today. You are forgetting everything, aren't you? Growing old are ya?'' she taunted him. She took a cup of coffee and went to the couch. Then something crossed his mind. ''Wait, what did you say the date was?'' he went to fetch the calendar on the table. Yes, it was the 10th of July.

He smiles gently. “Thank you.” I didn’t believe it but I didn’t have to say that. “How have you been lately?” I look up to see Darren waiting for a response. “I’ve been good actually. I got an internship and a vintage typewriter while on a date yesterday.” I try to seem casual. “Oh, a date?” Did I sense a hint of curiosity or was that jealousy?

Maybe it was all just a weird joke. “Are you okay?” she asked concerned “Have a date tonight” I finally said “People still do that, I thought we just go out there and picked whosoever for fucking damn like” she handed me my cup of milkshake

“It’s changing. It’s getting… intense.” River nodded slowly. “What do you think it is? Why is he acting like he owns the world all of a sudden?” I shook my head. “I don’t know. But this is strange. We couldn’t even say a word when he did. It was like his words were final. Crazy…” Then instantly, something snapped in my mind. My eyes went wide. “Wait. What’s today’s date?” I asked. “The 17th,” River said. “Fuck!” we both shouted at the same time.

“Well, I think you can make it up to her somehow.” “How is that even possible?” I asked. He held the screen closer. “It’s February 12th, Darius.” I raised a brow at him. “So?” “It's Valentine’s day… in two days.”

I walked towards it and saw some circled dates along with some short notes. “Birthdate,” it said on the 12th of April. I walked back to the computer and inputted the numerical date. “Rejected. Please try again,” it said. I clicked my tongue and went back to the calendar. I ripped it off the wall and flipped through its pages. I sat back down on the computer, impatiently tapping my foot on the ground. I saw Hera’s birthday circled on the calendar, and I thought that might be it. I typed in her birthday and waited until it started loading. It took longer to load this time, so I thought that it might actually work; however, it went back to the original page.

Uncle Jaime was gone while Joshua had a family of his own. Thera focused her eyes on the diary. It was written there that she smiled at the guy while she retreated back to her seat, embarrassed. Thera turned to the next page. Her brows furrowed. June 5, 2010, was the next date already. Lord, tomorrow, I am going to marry the man I love. Thank you for giving him to me. Just like the first entry in the diary, Thera could not remember that part from her past. She checked the date once again. June 5, 2010.

He was a bit disappointed that she had forgotten they had a date but it was fine, if she forgot he would just have to remind her again, right? “Today is going to be our date day and it starts from now. Enjoy your breakfast, Vian and then we’ll take shower together if you don’t mind and get ready for the date.” Vian just remembered about the date. Her mind had been so occupied with work she had forgotten they made an arrangement on the weekend. Fortunately, she had finished everything so she did not really need to worry too much about any leftover work she needed to do on the weekend.
