I found the desk where Kael had been reading earlier that week and he had found record concerning my mark few hours ago.
The book he had seen the Anima Libera was still there, its leather cover cold under my touch. I flipped through the pages I had seen him study. It spoke of the dual sacrifice, the silver fire, and the Free Agent status. But it ended abruptly, as if the author had been interrupted. It described the rise of a Speaker, but it said nothing of her life and nothing of her end. Just a few mentions of the powers she would possess.
"There has to be more," I hissed, my frustration boiling over. "He's hiding something from me. Or the world is hiding it from him."
