Exactly at that moment, an explosion erupted from the wall on my left side, making a huge, gaping hole to be formed. The ground underneath us shook from the intensity of that explosion. My heart jumped out of my chest at the extremely loud, ringing, noise that erupted all around, but that wasn’t the only sound that broke out.
I heard one sound I would recognize even through my blurred vision, through my bleeding, agonizing stab wound, through the achingly loud ringing in my ears, through being on the verge of passing out. I had a feeling I would even recognize it even when I’m dead.
