"Jack," Catherine said, tracing the black veins on his face. "Your eye..."
Jack looked at his reflection in the polished steel of the reactor casing.
His left eye was his own—hazel, human.
His right eye was gone. In its place was a solid orb of blackness, with a burning, vertical golden slit for a pupil.
It was the eye of the Wolf. The eye of the Entity he had fought in the dream.
"I can see it," Jack whispered, looking at the ceiling, looking through the rock, through the earth, towards the signal from the mansion. "I can see the path."
