Acasia I was away from Bastian and in the presence of another woman. It was difficult not to jump up and down with excitement but I acted reserved so I wouldn't scare Nikka away. Brunya had spoken aloud, and Bastian told me they could so I knew earth humans spoke. Another female named Mandy joined us. She was as excited to meet me as I was to meet her. She explained that she was a wolf and human mix and that Nikka was mountain lion and human. Since I now knew dragons shifted, I had no trouble accepting what she told me. I had so many questions about their realm, and Mandy patiently answered for about three minutes.

The fauna are interesting creatures with a mixture of human and animal-like features. They come in many variations like cats, dogs, snakes, insects, birds, reptilian, or fish though mythical creatures such as harpies, mermaids, fairies, and centaurs differ themselves from faunus because mythicals have divinity while faunus are more like humans, mortal and ephemeral. They intermingle with humans and may live in a common territory but some still experience discrimination and violence.

"Keep him safe." "I will," Fin promised, with a nod of his head. "Good." Fyre turned and crawled forward. "Come on, cutie, it's time to leave." Fin took my hand in his. However, instead of crawling like the others, he rose to his feet. "Why are we walking?" I frowned at him. "Don't mind those two. They are animals, but I'm not an animal." He looked smug. "But you are a fairy," I pointed out, in case he had forgotten who he was.

Tyrel (Third-person POV) “What do you mean one of us?” Gavin asks with a deep frown. “He's a shifter like you and I," Curtis replies. "He's hiding among us. The creature can take human or… demon-wolf form. Like… a werewolf that turns demon when no one's watching.” The Gamma holds two fingers up like a child as he adds, “Two beasts in one body. Something like that.” “That's makes no sense!” Ty snaps.

Then I saw his thin lips curl up from under his black mask. I gasped when he flipped me around, my back colliding with the closed door. He had hitched one of my legs up, his body pressing closer against mine. “Your body says otherwise, little lamb” Prince Darion whispered in my ear, his lips trailing my neck. Fuck! why did my own body betray me?

It was the first time I had ever been genuinely nervous over a rabbit. “Rabbits are one of my favorite animals. They’re so cute, hmmm,” she said cheerfully, turning to me. “How about you, Alice?” she asked. “Me?” I asked. She nodded. “I like dogs. They’re adorable and funny,” I replied. “What about creatures?” she asked again. I raised my brow. “What do you mean?” I asked. “Creatures… like vampires, fairies, witches, mermaids… werewolves. Which creatures do you like?”

Caelan said flatly. "She's human. Property. Livestock." Ronan shrugged like my fate meant nothing. "Surely she's not worth the lives of every wolf in Ironfang." The courtyard had gone deathly silent. Every eye was locked on Caelan, waiting to see how he'd respond. "You're right," Caelan said slowly. "She's not worth every wolf in Ironfang." My heart stuttered. Cold dread flooded through my veins. Caelan's eyes met mine across the distance. Something burned in their depths that I couldn't read.

Whoops! Then there's the people and the creatures. They dress the way you might expect in a fairytale. The men wear trousers, and the women wear skirts and gowns. All of the animals can talk, including the tiniest insect - at least, that's what Leo told me. He also said most of them choose not to speak since it requires a great deal of magic to understand different languages, and they don't want to be bothered. I might actually believe that last part.

My teeth stretch, pricking my bottom lip. It feels like…home. My paws sink into the grass as I take off across the yard. Beside me, a black fox darts between the bushes, bounding over the stone path. Tristan’s emerald eyes catch mine in silent glee. Our spirit animals are bigger than their natural counterparts, with Tristan’s fox nearly as big as any wolf. “Hey!” Cain’s voice roars across the front yard, but it’s too late.

" This is White. He is my friend. Luckily, he saved us today through you." The Stallion leaned closer to Anita, showing it own sense of appreciation. " Uh, looks like it has accept you already," Andrea, the fairy, commented gently, upon seeing what the stallion just did. Anita wasn't even paying attention to the stallion. Her mind was on something else. She couldn't believe what Andrea just told her. She glanced around the whole place, shaking her head. " You are a fairy?! All of you are?!" She asked, with face full of mixed emotions.
