Chapter 3: Myla Five Years Later In a bustling restaurant, a woman sat alone in the corner, her presence commanding attention. Her eyes, sharp and calculating, swept the room, and her beauty was undeniable. Despite the soft elegance she exuded, there was something fiercely determined about her—something that made her seem unapproachable, untouchable. This was Mila, though she went by Myla now. Beside her sat a little girl, her legs swinging beneath the table, her eyes wide and bright as she gazed at her mother. The girl’s expression mirrored Mila’s own—sharp, observant, unyielding.

He held my face in his hands and looked into my eyes. ‘Why me though?’ I asked him, pouting. He tipped his head sideways in confusion. ‘What do you mean, Zayka?’ ‘Why me and not some other prettier girl?’ His eyebrows shoot up in astonishment. ‘Seriously? Why me and not Lyosha or Misha? I hear Misha is quite a catch’’ He finishes wiggling his eyebrows. I snorted at this. Misha was good looking enough, but he also looked like he was 16. He was gangly and awkward at times, I doubted he was older than 19.

I replied as I looked down at my plate I heard my dad let out a sigh "my son you are anything but a disappointment! Maybe, sometimes it is best to settle with what is good for you, instead of being alone. Anyways, enough of this, let's eat" The next morning, I walked into my office and found that Marianna was not there, instead there was a young lady maybe early 2s with blonde hair sitting at her desk. “where is Ms. Milano? And who are you?” I asked deadpan She looked up at me and instantly stood up, trying to control the fear in her voice she said "Good msorning Sir, my name is Sarah Baxter, I am a temp here. I am unsure where Ms. Milano is, but I could find out for you if you'd like?"

I didn’t see her in the banquet, but here she is draped in jewels instead of her usual cruelty, flattering Princess Lena with all her might. He was told to take her home. "I can walk on my own, you know," She sighed and pulled his hand away from hers. She wondered what the other children would say if they saw her dragged out. Mila turned around and saw some of the girls in her dormitory looking at her. "What are you looking at?" She shouted at them.

Because before, Anna would have asked to leave immediately because what this soldier was wearing was completely unfit for a noble lady like herself to see. And now that Liam knew the true identities of Anna and Mila, he felt less surprised that Anna had such traits, because after all, she was the real vampire princess.
