“How do you know my name?” Elaine reached into her bag slowly and pulled out the Magicae book. Naomi’s eyes seemed to dance to the flicker of gold from the lettering. “This..” Elaine began, “Is the Magicae Book, it lead us to you. You see, I have magic.” The brunette’s eyes snapped up to Elaine’s face, as if she had instantly become a treasure in a world of dirt and embers. “You have magic?” It was soft because, despite her facade, she was still young. Fifteen was a child just verging on the need to grow up. Everything about Naomi screamed defiance, from her dirty clothes and matted hair to her nearness to the terrifying creature.
