Crimes and Punishment

Crimes and Punishment

I left Aaron for the meantime on the part where the fountain pens are to go to the novel section. Since I saw Sophie Lark's Brutal Prince on TikTok's recommendation, people who have read this say that it has a strong female lead. I enjoy books of that genre, therefore I may be interested in reading it. I looked at the shelves. I also picked up a book and read the synopsis on the back when Aaron came to me here. "You like reading books?" he asked. I turned my eyes on him, "Uh, sometimes. If I'm interested in the plot," I answered.

“So the guy’s getting anonymous links to an underground darknet site.” “By guy you mean DC Harlow, right? The detective whose wife and child were burned alive.” “That’s right.” “Very Derek Raymond.” “What?” “The protagonist I mean, like the unnamed police officer who narrates all of Raymond’s Factory novels.” “Oh yeah, yes, that’s it exactly.”

The first words came out slowly, but soon he was writing quickly, as if someone was speaking through his mind: "To Mayor Michael Wallace, Subject: Report on the Successful Resolution of the Recent High-Profile Heists and Robbery" Detective James paused, tapping the pen against the paper. His heart beat faster as he continued. The details needed to be perfect. He wrote about how the police force had executed a strategic operation using a convertible bait car to catch the thieves. He framed it so that the suspects they had arrested were the same ones responsible for the recent bank heist, the wedding heist, and the robbery at the Abibba building. "Through careful planning and the deployment of

The other one added. Henry Cambert is a well-known author, and there's no denying that he's really talented. He's been awarded as a best-selling author multiple times, and his novels are famous in different parts of the world. There's no denying that he really is a treasure of the country when it comes to his talent. But, it will not change the fact that he is a monster. There is also one thing that Amara somehow discovered from his novels. She found out many similarities of his novels to his real life. It's as if his novels are his veiled journals of his crimes.

Most novelists struggle to have their debut novel published, but once published they often continue to be published, although very few become literary celebrities, thus gaining prestige or a considerable income from their work. Every novel worthy of the name is like another planet, whether large or small, which has its own laws just as it has its own flora and fauna. Thus, Faulkner's technique is certainly the best one with which to paint Faulkner's world, and Kafka's nightmare has produced its own myths that make it communicable. Benjamin Constant, Stendhal, Eugène Fromentin, Jacques Rivière, Radiguet, all used different techniques, took different liberties, and set themselves different tas

But I haven't been able to make up my mind about it yet, so I'm still on the fence. "Web novels?" Miranda repeated in surprise. "What kind of web novels?" Mindy smiled awkwardly. "Urban romance." Miranda was speechless for a while. Mindy was a published mystery novelist. Back when mystery novels had been all the craze, Mindy made her grand debut with "Murder Weapon" and sold half a million copies. Later in the same year, her follow-up thriller novel, "The Deserted School", broke her personal sales record in a very short time as well.

This is a good book. I enjoyed reading it. It’s been a week now with no new chapters. At least end the book with an ending instead of just left it hanging. It’s getting more interesting & I know the readers would like to continue reading it. You know the feeling without closure, no satisfaction.......

Murder on the Northwind Trail

"How could you even think that about me? Yeah, I survived, but I was a victim, too. And now, just because of one photo, you're calling me a killer? Do you have any idea how much that hurts?" I swallowed hard, my voice breaking. "I said I probably fell asleep around 10 PM. I never said I was sure. My head was spinning from the altitude, and I wasn't clear. And come on—I'm just one woman. How the heck could I take out five grown men?" Alex's stare locked onto my face. "Yeah… doesn't seem likely." Just then, the coroner walked in with a fresh report, the pages still smelling like ink. He handed it straight to Alex.

“I remember when you used to be cautious as hell in choosing words to tell me because you thought that it would make you ungrateful to me.” The raven stared at her blankly before breaking character as she laughed along with her, remembering their very first interaction when they were 16. The story of Knives and Bullet, whose real names were Lia Spade and Leo Spade, starts with them growing up in an orphanage since they were babies. Lia was the hot-tempered and violent kid, while her fraternal twin brother was a scaredy-cat.

The mobster and the writer

The mobster and the writer

To say that mafia life is not boring is to have no idea. Surely the "rank and file soldiers", as I call them, have action and all those dangerous tasks that come to mind when we think of the term "mafia". The problem is that not everyone in that world is “private”. I certainly wasn't. I was the "prisoner-guest." I had been practically locked in my room for a week and except for visits from Cami and G, I was alone. At least I had my laptop to write and not go crazy. The positive part of my isolation is that I made a lot of progress in the new novel. My imagination, which previously seemed stunted, was now fired. The latest romantic incident (or whatever it was) with G had given me a needed pu

The Mysterious Affair

Yeah, he'd learned to practice patience, but dealing with the police while they questioned Betty had just about driven him to the edge of reason. He opened the car door for her, holding her elbow as she climbed in. Daylight had waned, and the parking garage was dimly lit, the sound of other hospital visitors echoing through the cement structures. Betty listened for other things. Furtive footballs on the pavement. The click of a gun safety being released. The slide of fabric or the soft huff is a breath. Someone had tried to kill Dan just a few weeks ago, and there was no reason to believe that person would be content to let him live. The road went quiet as he stepped around the car. The soun

Crime fiction has this magnetic pull that keeps us hooked, and the masters of the genre are nothing short of legendary. Agatha Christie is the queen of whodunits—her plots are like intricate puzzles where every piece fits just right. 'And Then There Were None' is a masterpiece of suspense, playing with our minds like a chess grandmaster. Then there's Raymond Chandler, who gave us Philip Marlowe, the epitome of the hard-boiled detective. His prose is sharp, gritty, and oozes noir charm.

Dashiell Hammett’s 'The Maltese Falcon' redefined crime fiction with its raw realism and morally gray characters. You can’t talk about crime without mentioning Arthur Conan Doyle, whose Sherlock Holmes set the blueprint for detective stories. Modern giants like Gillian Flynn and Tana French bring psychological depth, making their stories as much about the human psyche as the crimes themselves. Each author brings something unique—Christie’s cleverness, Chandler’s style, Hammett’s toughness, Doyle’s brilliance, and Flynn’s darkness. It’s a genre rich with talent.
