There was Fenrik, his golden eyes blazing with an intensity that sent a shiver down my spine, but also a weariness that hadn't been present moments ago. He stood beside someone I didn't recognize, a tall, cloaked figure whose face was obscured by shadow. I saw myself too, in various forms—sometimes wielding a sword with unexpected grace, sometimes cloaked in dark, flowing robes, a crown of thorns resting on my head. In one vision, I stood on a precipice overlooking a vast, shimmering city, flames licking at the horizon. In another, I held a small, glowing orb in my hands, its light pulsing in rhythm with my own accelerated heartbeat.

I’m damn proud of it, and I’m glad I didn’t give up after the first fail. I’ve discovered that I get into those fantasy stories where one person knows who his or her soul mate is upon meeting them, or even before that, as what happened in the A Court of Thorns and Roses series by Sarah J. Maas, A Kinda Fairy Tale series by Cassandra Gannon, and many of the shifter books by Eve Langlais that I have loved so much. So that’s where I came up with the Love Mark idea.

I had watched father read them a few times, so no doubt I know them so well. The spin-offs are all under 70k words, so they shouldn't take anywhere near as long to complete. The second half of the saga is the next generation books, and is called the Royal Shadow Series, with the first book being titled Shadow of an Alpha (cover and synopsis already available online), and I think you can guess who it's about. The Royal Shadow Series will consist of 9 books, and then the saga will be complete.
