"How are you feeling today?"
"Terrible," she flops backward, her body hitting against the bed. "You know, doctor... um... What's your name again?"
"You can call me Morgana or Dr. Foster if you prefer," I say, being as gentle and friendly as I can.
"So, Dr. Morgana," she says, sounding natural and calm. "I haven't felt good for a long time. I'm the unluckiest person in the world!" Her tone is playful as before, but I sense a twinge of pain in her words. "Because who would have thought that an 18-year-old would discover liver cancer and after fighting so hard, would need a transplant, right?"
